Connie Cook and I became acquainted when I first discovered Authors' Den and read some of her work here. I wrote to her as an admiring fan. Connie's poems spoke loudly to my heart! We continued to correspond by email, becoming close friends and encouraging each other. Connie urged me to begin posting my poems. We often used our middle names in writing emails. She's Connie Jean and I'm Connie Marie. Our names were just one more thing we had in common. Lord, I love this gal!
Two Connies met
on the internet;
They hit it off so fine.
This is no joke --
As each one spoke,
She said, "I admire the way you rhyme!"
"I love the poem
you wrote today,"
"And I love your work, too."
As time went on,
they forged a bond
and became friends, loyal and true!
They quickly found
their hearts were bound
as sisters in the Lord;
No wonder when
each took her pen,
they honored God with one accord!
Now Connie Jean
has left the scene;
moved to her heavenly home.
Though no one knows when,
they'll meet again;
Together, they'll write a new poem!
The words will be
a symphony;
They'll sing for joy together!
To God, their King
worship they'll bring;
They'll live with their Lord forever!
