... How Precious the Death of His Saints (from Psalm 116: 15) How precious to God is the death of His saints, When the time of their lives they depart, And lay down their lives as they follow His Son to the abode which came from God's heart. The toils and trials of life put away, Like a well marked page in a book, Enfolded with care and a thanksgiving prayer, For the pathway of Christ that they took. God requires that His child, a work worn soul Leave the useless body behind, and in the last act of faith of departing this life arise with pure spirit and mind. United he will be through all eternity with goodness, peace, joy and love, with God in three persons and saints gone before who will praise and rejoice up above. But just suppose it might be true That we reap what we sow; Because we try to think a thing Doesn't always make it so. ... Jesus On The Cross It was early in the springtime when flowers begin to bud, that Jesus was nailed to the cross and there He shed His blood. Jesus could have called the angels to keep him safe and well, but He chose the cross and death and defeated Death and Hell. Jesus suffered though it all that day for sinners like you and me, so that we can someday be with Him far beyond the raging sea. Then He spent three days in the tomb where evil likes to romp and roam, so by Him we are saved from sin and can join Him at our heavenly home. Now let us praise and thank Him with worship from our hearts, for what He did on earth that day so we could have brand-new starts. [by: John H. ... They Walked With God Enoch, the seventh from Adam; A descendant of his third son Seth; The first-born son of Jared Never tasted decay and death. He was blameless, humble and upright And pleased God in all his ways; He walked with God and he talked with God Nigh a hundred thousand days. When he reached the age of sixty-five He begat Methuselah; The oldest man who ever did live And granddaddy to Noah. Enoch stayed close to his Maker Then by faith He was taken away; He walked with God then he was no more-Never tasting death and decay. Noah followed in his footsteps; He obeyed God night and day, Pleasing the Lord with his blameless life And teaching his sons to pray. Throughout the years and the ages Mighty men listened to You As You shared Your thoughts and Your secrets With those who were upright and true. Father, it is our desire To walk with You as they ...

At six months old the boy took sick, a fever raged for days, The only hope the doctor said is" if your family prays" Early the fourth morning as the family gathered round, The baby never woke that day; he never made a sound. With the words of the old doctor ringing in his head, The father knew if this should happen then his son was dead. As the tears began to flow with all the family grieving, The father finally spoke and said we ’ ll bury him this evening. We ’ ll keep him here with us all day so we can see his face, And I ’ ll go dig a grave for him up in the family place. ... Before My Mother Died" Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death" (Song of Songs 8: 6 KJV) Before my Mother died Daddy always had a smile, Fun-loving, playful, upbeat~" carefree joy" described his style. Each day when he came home from work you'd hear his happy song, The men who worked beside him said he whistled all day long! He looked for folks that he could bless and hugged each who came near, Townfolk would rush up to his side to hear his jokes and cheer. His love was unconditional, he spread it far and wide~Yes, Daddy was a different man before my Mother died. After her death I never saw that glee once in his eyes. ... Along the golden streets A stranger walks tonight With wonder in his heart-Faith blossomed into sight. He walks and stops and stares, And walks and stares again. Vistas of loveliness Beyond the dreams of men. He who once was weak, And often shackled to a bed, Now climbs eternal hills With light and easy tread. He has escaped at last The cruel clutch of pain; His lips shall never taste Her bitter cup again. O never call him dead, This buoyant one and free, Whose daily portion is Delight and ecstasy! Now bows in speechless joy Before the feet of Him Whom, seeing not, he loved While yet his sight was dim. It is far too much to bear to see others miss the Way; to know they don't believe or fear, that they've gone totally astray. If only they could see God's Truth; if only they would listen. He could have saved His Son the shame By forcing man His will to claim. ... Studies in Wisdom Wisdom is the voice of the Lord whispering In our ear, Telling us the truths about ourselves that We'd rather never hear. Wisdom is the eye that sees the shadow Of death behind Our multitude of grandiose schemes and Plans made by the blind. Wisdom is the hesitation we sometimes feel right Before we talk, And the instinct that tells us it's often better Simply to get up and walk. Wisdom is the light within that illuminates Our road ahead, And shows us the twists and turns of fate, And signs that we misread. Should tomorrow start without me Remind our boys, God loves all who care. And when life seems too harsh and cruel With “ Him ” they must share their prayer. I have proven I ’ m not a coward Who breaks and runs to survive. Always fearing death will kiss me As the streets of Baghdad I drive. Should tomorrow start without me Be proud I choose to serve. ... still don't know when the words will come, But we know they are sent from above; They're meant to help sisters and brothers, Not ours! They're God's words; filled with His love. They come during the day or at night, Mostly when they are least expected; We might find it hard to understand, Why we're the ones that God's selected. Yes, Dear Lord, we must ask this question, Why on that cross did You choose to die? For those who are so undeserving, You've blessed us to the point that we cry. And no matter what others may think, You and Your servants know what is true; We'll continue to pass on Your words, We will ever be faithful to You. And yes, there are many of us, We know we can't do this alone; And we welcome the company, On this trail that will lead us home.~Paul D. Berube~February ...

... . He was the sacrifice for Your gift of salvation, offered first to Your chosen, then the Gentile nations. He was a simple man and He lived a sinless life. Not unlike us, He faced rejection and strife. He was gentle and kind and was a humble soul. His earthly life fulfilled all prophecies foretold. He cured the sick and gave sight to the blind. He cast out demons from tormented minds. He cleansed the lepers and raised the dead. With just five loaves, many thousands He fed. By His life, He taught us how we should be living. We should be loving, kind, patient and forgiving. Jesus ’ mission on earth was to save the sinners. By our faith and belief, we all become winners. I couldn't believe we finally were meeting, But I knew I had to answer her greeting. I told her my name was just Willie Ben, I was really named after one of my kin. She said she'd been married to Lee Ned, Woke up one morn and found him dead. This is my girl standing here by my side, Every Sunday morn we go out for a ride, He said I'd like to join your company too, If you all don't mind me being with you. ... Fly This poem I ’ d like to share, To my heart it ’ s very dear. Pen in hand, God guided me, Through the Holy Trinity. All praise be to God always, As we grow in his true grace: She lifted up her big blue eyes, Towards God ’ s heavenly, majestic skies. As she became so weak and weary, Our hearts grew very sad and dreary. She wondered, “ Lord, why must I die ?” Don ’ t worry; you ’ ll have wings to fly. There is a place prepared for you, Where you will never feel sad or blue. No more sorrows, no more pain, Heavenly joy will be your gain. Take my hand and do not fear, Your time to go is very near. Friends and family stood around, With tears falling gently to the ground. She asked the Lord, “ How can I go? With friends and ...

... Wisdom And Knowledge The wise listen to increase their learning, Where the scorners of wisdom close their mind. The hearts of the prudent gather knowledge, For a soul without grace becomes confined. Our knowledge can help us fulfill our dreams, Though most of the time with wisdom comes grief. For knowledge removes our veil of ignorance, Exposing within the liar or thief. A wise mind is a fountain of life; To teach others it's knowledge before death. Wisdom is too hard for fools to retain, Who curse their fellows with spiteful breath. Fill yourself with love and understanding, For wisdom makes the human face shine. Knowledge is stronger than weapons of war, While on ignorance, fools continue to dine. The words of the wise are heard in quiet, More than the loud shouts of screaming fools. Wisdom and knowledge cause stability, In the lives of those who use them as tools. We should shun with wisdom what is ...

... not a pretty sight A life of fame and worldly gain Has led us from the light. Today, our lives are compromised By greediness and wealth The Bible has been hid away Upon a dusty shelf. I know there must be other mothers, who have felt this pain, And wonder how they kept from going totally insane. I thought about the Virgin's child so many years gone by, The first time that She held Him, She knew He was born to die. She was a special lady so the Christmas story reads, But She had angels sent from God that helped to soothe her needs. He always was a good boy never even raised His voice, Except on some occasions when He really had no choice. He treated people kindly; treated everybody fair, And if somebody had a problem, He would really care. People always listened to the words He had to say, And they would stay and listen even late into the day. If life be long I will be glad, That I may long obey; If short-yet why should I be sad To soar to endless days? Christ leads me through no darker rooms Than He went through before; He that unto God's kingdom comes, Must enter by this door. Come, Lord, when grace has made me meet Thy blessed face to see; For if Thy work on earth be sweet, What will Thy glory be! Then shall I end my sad complaints, And weary, sinful days; And join with the triumphant saints, To sing Jehovah's praise. She tried to pluck it from the bedstraw, But her efforts were in vain. Its steams were intertwined, His future'd been ordained. This mattered not for Mary knew, What a bitter herb implied. Age is upon me but I'm not afraid to die All that I stand for will be viewed by and by. I don't expect a mansion or wings to help me fly Only to serve you and yours in the sky. With one foot in heaven and one down on earth I pray to be remembered and judged by my worth. ... Keep Trying Two frogs fell into a deep cream bowl. One was an optimistic soul, But the other took the gloomy view." We shall drown ," he sobbed with much ado! And with a last despairing cry, He flung up his legs and said," Good-bye !" Said the other frog with merry grin," I can't get out, but I won't give in. I'll just swim around till my strength is spent, Then will I die the more content !" Bravely he swam till it would seem His struggles began to churn the cream! On top of the butter at last he stopped, And out of the bowl he happily hopped! So what is the moral? 'Tis easily found; If you can't hop out, keep swimming around! ... then thought her life was over. She suffered unspeakable loss When her Son's beloved hands Were nailed to a wooden cross... But that was just the beginning. For He died and rose again. Her sorrow then was ended, And joy replaced her pain. For, you see, her Son was Jesus, God coming to earth as Man, To save us from our sins According to His plan. We cannot save ourselves. Our sins would lead to death. God put our sins on Jesus, The perfect and the best. With this came our forgiveness If we believe in Him And ask Him into our hearts, He'll take away our sins. As He was resurrected, Eternal Life He'll bring To all who have faith and believe And to His hand will cling. To Jesus be ALL Praise and Glory! ... , I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand, And said my place was ready, In heaven far above, And that I'd have to leave behind All those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, A tear fell from my eye, For all my life, I'd always thought, I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, So much left yet to do, It seemed almost impossible, That I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, The good ones and the bad, I thought of all that we shared, And all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, Just even for a while, I'd say good-bye and kiss you And maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized, That this could never ...

... In His Hands Through many dangers, toils and snares and far too many worldly cares In His hands I find rest When the world is at my back shaking its finger ready to attack In His hands I find rest Looking into the mirror I see hazy reflections of what I could be In His hands I find rest When in prayer I close my eyes on bended knee and I cry In His hands I find rest The last tendril of breath I exhale will not be death but instead heavenly rest.~Valerie Bishop~[ by: Valerie Bishop, Copyright 2007 (vbish123 @yahoo.com)-submitted by: Valerie Bishop] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...

... . He's told me that before. But I sometimes don't remember, until I can take no more! But in His presence I settle down. In the shelter of His care. His presence is really all I need, then I can find Him everywhere! In His presence I'm satisfied. My burdens ever lighter. In His presence I will rest, My future now looks brighter! I can face my problems now with Him always by my side. Then when death claims my body, in His presence I will eternally abide! ... Just To Inspire You I know your secrets and you know mine When you need me, I'll help you out anytime. To see you hurt, to see you cry, Makes me weep and want to die. And if you agree to never fight, it wouldn't matter who's wrong or right. If a broken heart needs a mend, I'll be right there until the end. If your cheeks are wet from drops of tears, don't worry and let go of your fears. Hand in hand love is sent, we'll be friends until the end. ... I both share, The first ones that just come to mind when it is sitting there. They were mostly happy times as was the life we led, The little tree and I don't dwell we always forge ahead. So now we make more Christmas memories each and every year, And as the grand-kids come around the little tree is here. Every Christmas it gets older, but then so do I. I guess that I will keep the little tree until I die. We've been together for so long and share such history, I guess there's nothing that I have that means so much to me. Then every year I think of pitching it, but then I balk, And every year I think I wish this little tree could talk. We have a lot of memories and there's many more to come, We have to look at where we're going not where we came from. Many people have a tree as this poem speaks about ...

... He will still abide! He calms my fears and fills me with joy He tells me I am His own. If not one of my friends can be found, He reminds me I'm still not alone! All I need to do is call Him in prayer. Ask Him to stay by my side. He says," You are my own, bought by a price. I'll forever with you abide !" Don't you need a Savior that loved you enough To die so you can be free? Call on Jesus and let Him save you today Then you too will always see... He can be all things to all people, forever. ... He Touched Me Jesus touched the blind and they could see. They were bound and He set them free! He raised the dead and they praised His name. And so many times, He healed the lame! He died on the cross a sacrifice for all. So He could save us if on Him we call. He may be there just looking for you. He wants to see if your heart is true. He may knock on your heart's door. He'll whisper to you like never before. He still is the same, even today. If He knocks, don't turn Him away! He came into my heart, many years ago. And ever since then, I've loved Him so! ... His Name is Wonderful! In that lowly manger A Savior from sin. Yes, there that day, He was God even then! The years as a child While on earth He trod. Have you ever thought, As a Child, He was God? When He died on the cross, Praise His name forever more, Even dying on that day He was God as before! As He lay in the tomb Those three days He stayed, He was God when He arose And was God while He laid! He arose on that third day, The promised Sacrifice fulfilled. The Savior of all, paid the price. ... How Would You Feel? What would you do? What would you say? If Jesus stood before you, on this Easter Day? What would you think? How would you feel? If you saw Him rise from the dead, would you then believe He's real? What did you think, those people long ago, thought as they saw the Son, in Heaven's glow? How do you think they felt at the sight, of the resurrected Lord, after He suffered His plight? How would you feel, if you were the one, who rolled back the stone, for God's only Son? And found Him not there. How could this be? His promise was true; He died, for you and me! Step back in time, on this Easter Day. How do you feel? Can you see the way? The Lord of Lords has risen! Your sins too, He forgave! All we need do is ask Him, to forgive our sins and repent. Help me, Lord, to live a good life. This is why He was sent! A routine checkup at your doctor because you are sore, But then the news, the test revealed, the problem is much more. Why does it take catastrophe or facing life or death? ... It Starts With A Seed Why aren't we grateful, We have what we need. He gave us His Word. It starts like a seed. We have to plant it, By speaking it out. If we can't believe it. There won't be a sprout. Remember how Jesus, Spoke to a tree. He said it by faith, While others could see. It withered and died, Just as he said. They were surprised, Why it was dead. He said we could say, Mountain be moved. It should obey, Our faith be proved. We talk to objects, When we get mad. Does that make sense, No, that is sad. But let someone speak, What He told us to say, Some skeptic comes along, Sez, no way hosea. Don't let that stop you, When you have a need, Remember I told you, It starts like a seed. [by: ...

... , What's happened to America affecting you and me. I feel the pain that others feel within this land we love, And cry my tears for other's who have loved ones now above. So many lives were taken and so many families torn, So many that the whole world stopped to cry with us and mourn. We weep for those who lost their lives, we weep for those close by, And as we weep we ask ourselves why did they have to die? What went so wrong to caused this fate that came on you and I. And now the haunting question as we stare and wonder why? It makes no sense to anyone when trying to explain, The agonizing horror and excruciating pain. I feel so empty deep inside and can't pinpoint the feeling, This blow against America just has emotions reeling. This chapter of America now starts a brand new page, And in the twinkling of an eye we're in a different age ...
