Lord, there's no request list This time when I pray, I just want to give thanks This Thanksgiving Day. First, I want to thank You For gifts from above: Your unending mercy, Your undeserved love. And thank You for sending Your Son down to earth, For now those in Jesus Can have second birth. Lord, thank You for saving Your children from Hell, And giving Your Spirit Who comes to indwell. And thank You for choosing me To be Your own, For now that You're in me I'm never alone. ... God Knows Best Our Father knows what's best for us, So why should we complain. We always want the sunshine, But He knows there must be rain. We love the sound of laughter And the merriment of cheer; But our hearts would lose their tenderness If we never shed a tear. Our Father tests us often With suffering and with sorrow; He tests us, not to punish us, But to help us meet" tomorrow" For growing trees are strengthened When they withstand the storm; And the sharp cut of the chisel Gives the marble grace and form. God never hurts us needlessly, And He never wastes our pain; For every loss He sends to us Is followed by rich gain. And when we count the blessings That God has so freely sent; We will find no cause for murmuring And no time to lament. For Our Father loves His children, And to Him all things are plain; So He ...
... My Resurrection Day Before my resurrection, I suffered so much pain, My face set like a flint, I knew what I would gain. There was Judas, who betrayed me with a kiss, He sold me out, now heaven he will miss. Peter denied he knew me, and so he cursed, It's hard to really say, what had hurt me worse. I prayed in the garden, to my Father up on high, to let the cup pass from me, If I were not to die. I prayed Father not my will, but thy will be done, I came to earth to die, so sinners would be won. It was time for me to die, hanging on a cross, I paid the price I had to pay, so that none be lost, I know there will be some, who will reject my love, Their hearts just like a stone, but I'm gentle as a ...
... When the Father Remains Silent When the Father remains silent like He does not hear your cries; When you feel that He's not listening, and the hope within you dies~When it seems He does not hear you and you feel He does not care; When you plead with Him to answer, but it seems that He's not there. When you feel He has abandoned you and left you on the shelf, When you feel that you're forsaken and there's no one but yourself. When it seems that your petitions have most surely been in vain; That's the time the Lord is closest and you feel His deepest pain. For when it seems that you're abandoned and you feel the most alone, You are sharing the same heartache that our Lord Himself has known. For Christ also felt deserted as He hung upon that tree; Till He cried in deepest anguish," Why hast Thou forsaken Me ?"" Know ye not that if ye ...

... DAD Your shoes are hard to fill, Your name came from God above; Who gives most precious gifts To acknowledge sacrificial love. Gentleness marks your spirit, Strength is your basic man, Warmth your heart embraces Success always your plan. You have extended love and guidance Through all my childhood years, Comforted hurts and heartaches, Dried many childish tears. You have been steadfast beside me, As I became all strong and grown; Learning to make the best decisions; I could not have made it on my own. I thank you for your faithfulness, Your patience when I was mad, For discipline when I needed it, I sure do love you, DAD!~Joyce Guy~[ by: Joyce Guy, 2005 (Joy Of Art Shop)-submitted by: Joyce Guy (jguy453 @bellsouth.net)] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...
... Father Bless Our Nation O ' Lord our Father bless our nation, In fact bless your whole creation. We need a revival in our land, So we'll all join hand in hand. There's wars and fighting all around, You know Lord that sin abounds. We're depending on your Grace, As You put us in our place. Guns and tanks won't win this war, Peace is what I'm praying for. I'm amazed that folks hate You, After all that You went through. I guess they just don't understand, That You died for all sins of man. If they were told and didn't believe, Then there's no way that they'll receive. Some seem to think they're here to stay, As they go on their merry way. Thinking there will be no end, When You come they'll be surprised then. All the people have their views, So they air them in the news. I can tell they don't agree, ...
... A Father's Day Fantasy Sweetie, put your feet up and I'll give you a massage, I just waxed the car for you and cleaned out the garage, I mowed the lawn and washed the dog and made your favorite dish, I grabbed a flick at Blockbusters, we'll watch it when you wish. I trimmed the hedge myself, hon, that's a job I know you hate, I told my mom her visit here will simply have to wait, I'll shine your shoes, take out the trash, repair the kitchen sink, and while you're getting comfy I'll pour you a frosty drink. The baseball game's about to start, I'll bring you some hors d'oeuvres, I've sent the kids to grandma's so they won't get on your nerves, there's hot wings in the oven and your pals are on their way, I hope this meets your fantasy, dear~Happy Father's Day!~Connie~" Who can find a virtuous woman ...

Another year of progress, Another year of praise, Another year of proving Thy presence all the days. Another year of mercies, Of faithfulness and grace, Another year of gladness, The glory of thy face. Another year of leaning Upon thy loving breast, Another year of trusting, Of quiet, happy rest. ... , Before the ultimate sacrifice He would make. His hands and His feet were then pierced, As they nailed Him to that old wooden cross, He was guiltless and undeserving of this punishment, But for us He was willing to suffer loss. As He hung there in such terrible agony, With His blood now beginning to shed, No greater love could have ever been expressed, Than through the words that Jesus then said. He could have called for the Heavenly Father, To render just punishment for all He'd been through, But instead He uttered," Father forgive them, For they know not what it is that they do" May we follow the example of our Savior, Not focusing on our persecution and strife, Lord, teach us to love our enemies as you do, While we live out the remainder of this life.-Linda Lee Wolovich-[ by: Linda Lee Wolovich Copyright 2004 (llwolo @yahoo.com)- ...

He was getting closer to the core. Unknown what He would find there. I simply gave it to Him in prayer. As another layer was removed, He started to cry; Pulling this layer brought pain to my Father on High. And I was crying over the sadness I felt; The brokenness and all of the guilt. Past memories that I thought were gone; They were buried under layers disguised in a fragrance so strong. As onions peel more and more; And they put tears in our eyes as we get close to the core; So my father wept over my pain; Giving me a balm of comfort and strength to sustain." ... The Empty Tomb One day two thousand years ago, God proved His love for man. Because the tomb was empty, He accomplished His salvation plan. God sacrificed His only Son, For mankind as a whole. To re-establish fellowship, With the creation He gave a soul. Jesus became our sins that day, And God poured out His wrath. He loved the fallen world so much, He had to provide a path. A path which leads to the Father, And that path became His Son. The cross became the symbol, By which mankind could be won. Jesus suffered much and tasted death, That Friday long ago. Or watch the brown beaver toil, From dawn to the end of the day. building indescribable dams, That slows a farmers way? Or out in the dusty desert, Hear a coyote wail at night. Or hear the mighty roll of thunder, As lightning flashes into sight? And then there comes a rainbow, pleasing to a human eye. As it's muted colors, stretch across a cloud-darkened sky! ... A Poem for Moms and Dads Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my sanity to keep. For if some peace I do not find, I'm pretty sure I'll lose my mind. I pray I find a little quiet Far from the daily family riot May I lie back -not have to think about what they're stuffing down the sink, or who they're with, or where they're at and what they're doing to the cat. I pray for time all to myself (did something just fall off a shelf ?) To cuddle in my nice, soft bed (Oh no, another goldfish -dead !) Some silent moments for goodness sake (Did I just hear a window break ?) And that I need not cook or clean-( well well, I've got the right to dream) Yes now I lay me down to sleep, I pray my wits about me keep, But as I look around I know-I must have ...

Everyday I'm blessed to have them near Makes more memories to hold dear. In his wisdom God planted me in A family permanently committed to Him. To give me roots upon which to grow So that from infancy love I would always know. A mother and father, who hovered over my breath, So that my baby eyes would not close in death. Two loving hearts that watched me mature And a few growing pains of adolescence endure. ... Singing in the Daisies Morning sounds all around. The rooster cries, good morn. The dew a twinkling, on the grass. A new day, now is born. Happy birds start singing; Their lovely songs of love. To our Heavenly Father, Watching from above. A prancing deer, seems in a rush; He runs through nearby trees. A busy little squirrel" chucks ", And rustles, through green leaves. I'm walking through my garden; At peace, I'm so content. The breath, of it's refreshment; I know is heaven sent. The sun is shining brightly; It's resting on my face. It feels as though, I'm warmly hugged; In loving arms, embrace. Walking amongst God's flowers; Each a special, painted art. I'm singing in the daisies; The song," How Great Thou Art". I lay, so happy, like a child; Upon a patch of grass. ...

... . The birds start singing earlier each morning before dawn, As if they also know by instinct winter now is gone. Little buds upon the trees are poking out their heads, Tiny stalks are popping up out in the flowerbeds. Treetops that were barren when the winter winds would blow, Now are filled with baby squirrels just running to and fro. The morning paper that was filled with winter sort of ads, Now is filled with grills and lawnmowers calling out to dads. Garden center parking lots for months were cold and dark, Now you must shop early if you want a place to park. So many signs that spring is coming and is finally here, The weather now is warming up at this time of year. ... The Man In The Glass When you get what you want in your struggle for self, And the world makes you king for a day, Just go to a mirror and look at yourself, And see what that man has to say. ... Sweet Memories Sometimes we feel so all alone, Everyone is so busy these days, Growing older slows us down, And we have to change our ways. But when we think about other times, Our memories bring on a smile, We wonder where all the time went, As we trudged that weary mile. And then we remember Grandma, With gray hair and old fashioned dress, As she danced with my daddy, At the Old Time Summer Fest. And when I hear the sweet laughter, When we played our childish games, And Mama cooking our supper, That gave her instant fame. Oh, that good old summer time, When we picked wild berries for Jam, And Papa built the fire, That smoked the bacon and the ham. As these old memories flood back, I become quite misty eye'd. ... What's Christmas About? It's not about when Santa comes. It's not about candies and sugarplums. It's about the belief in the birth of a heavenly babe. Which will bring us eternal life, once we are saved. It's not about getting the latest trend, toy or game. It's about knowing the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, are the same. It's not about the biggest tree or the brightest lights. It's about faith in His word that will keep us on a path that's right. It's not about the amount of money we've spent. It's about the heavy load, on us, that causes His back to be bent. It's about the ultimate sacrifice, in the name of love. A man, once sent to us, as a messenger from above. A man, once sent to us, to save us from our sins. Always offering a way to live and to begin again. Maybe, Happy Birthday ...

We try numerous things to keep our sanity and pride. We try buying trinkets ’ that bring us joy for awhile. But it never last for long and neither do the smiles. He Sees Himself In Us Jesus sees Himself in Us In many different ways: Jesus sees Himself in our smiling face and when we give a child our embrace He sees Himself in the way we kneel to pray when we brighten up someone else's day He sees Himself in us when we share our love with others when we remember to honor our fathers and mothers He sees Himself in us when we show our neighbors charity when in the marketplace we always practice parity He sees Himself in us when we resist temptation to sin when we persevere against letting Satan in He sees Himself in us when we fall under our afflictions when we must struggle against all the restrictions Jesus sees Himself in us when we follow in His way and when in His name we go to the throne day by day praying not only for ourselves but each and every nation that God grant by His loving grace, His merciful salvation. We must not let anger or bitterness take root, Jesus did not let these things enter into Him; We will be known to others by our fruit, Take a moment to forgive and begin again. ... Pilots ' planes shot down? How many foxholes were soldiers ' graves? No, Freedom is not free. I heard the sound of taps one night, When everything was still. I listened to the bugler play And felt a sudden chill. I wondered just how many times That taps had meant" Amen" When a flag had draped a coffin of a brother or a friend. I thought of all the children, Of the mothers and the wives, Of fathers, sons and husbands With interrupted lives. I thought about a graveyard at the bottom of the sea Of unmarked graves in Arlington. No, Freedom isn't free! 253. Inspirational and Christian POEMS -- Never Forget. [Poems]
... Never Forget This poem is based on the actual words of our Founding Fathers in July of 1776. Early to bed, and early to rise, Makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise. But, Ben resolved, On this historic day, Our efforts were worth my lost sleep, I must say. Night had long fallen; it was '76; There were tears and joy and prayer in a mix. No tongue could describe, no word could convey, The feelings those men had just felt on that day. They declared independence and now they were free; But there was a cost paid for liberty. John Adams, the chairman, stood up and he said, Men, this moment has doubled the worth of my head! Those fifty-six signers, those fifty-six men, For them life would never be normal again. They were lawyers and merchants; some owned plantations; They risked their own lives to begin a new ...

You're a treasure of gold sent to me from above And your gift to me is the father I love. Your strength and your faith in times of distress Are like rose petals bound in a book, neatly pressed. ... , was my welfare everyday. I never gave much thought, until much older though, of just how great a love, God had given you to show. It never seemed to matter if I was good or bad. You always had great love for me, even if I made you mad. The love of a mother for a child has to be from God above. The only real glimpse of Heaven is her unconditional love. For this is how our Father is in Heaven. Don't you see? It doesn't matter what a worm I am, He still shows great love for me. I find Him always there, whether resting or at play. I know His first concern, is my welfare everyday. His unconditional love, whether I am good or bad, reminds me of the love, from Mother's touch I had. ... whole. Intense pressure pushed it upward, through the mire and mud, to be touched by Jesus life and changed by His transforming blood. No longer black, but clear, A diamond in the rough The Holy Spirit took it, Still opaque and tough; Marks He made upon it, According to God ’ s plan, As gently He engulfed it In His skillful hand. How best to cut and size it To catch and hold the light reflecting God the Father E ’ en through the darkest night. He knew how to set each facet So it would sparkle most And reflect the Savior ’ s image toward worldly, wicked hosts; To flash the light of heaven To send a message clear, That time is of the essence And hell is drawing near. The cutting of the diamond Causes much grief and pain But the emerging stone lay silent Awaiting God ’ s cut again. The troubles of the world Are a worthy blade To ...

... Even in the food court golden arches still shine bright, Christmas shopping with my children found us there that night. As I walked beside a store I was amazed to see, Changing colors spinning round ' a silver Christmas tree. I just laughed as I remembered we had one of them, Everybody had one once and color wheels would spin. Then inside the toy store games for every video, And a line to buy them all because they want them so. Fathers standing there in line with their little boys, I wonder as I watch them, do they still make tinker toys? Then I saw old Santa Claus sitting in his chair, There must have been a hundred people standing in line there. Some were happy, some kids had a smile from ear to ear, But sadly I saw parents angry because they were here." Stop and smell the flowers" I thought, these times will not last, I would love ...

... for those below; With nails in hands and feet. With awesome beauty, Oh such love; Our joyful Jesus shines. Lost sinners saved, for them He gave; His life for all man kind. Give some joy to Jesus, friend; Let all of heaven ring. Lead a sinner to the Savior; Hear the heavens sing. I'd like to think, that everyday; There's a party in the sky. When we've won another one; To our Father upon high. Oh, wow, I hear them singing now; Great shouts of victory. Glory! Hallelujah! Praise! ... I wandered through the world's garbage A wicked vagabond, Stuffing my soul with refuse, With which the world abounds. But then I heard that Jesus Had died to set me free, That I could be cleansed and walk with Him And from the vileness flee. My heart leaped within me At such a blessed thought, But what the Lord had offered Could be neither sold nor bought. That He had paid my debt And gave me title free To approach the Heavenly Father Whose bosom welcomed me. I cried unto the Savior, I'll gladly follow Thee, And thank you for your mercy, Your great love, and liberty. Your life is now my own, I gladly take your yoke, And ask you to purify me, I submit to every stroke. My heart is so much lighter, My sin is rolled away, I no longer dread the facing Of my God on judgement day. [by: Joyce Guy (Joy Of ...
... Yes" and smiled, Knowing that God had provided this small place to birth the Child. As the donkey watched in reverence, there, within the sparrow's sight; As a light shone 'round about them, the Christ Child was born that night. All the animals were struck with awe as scores of angels came, Giving praise to God on highest, giving glory to His Name. And that tiny stable came alive with joy and peace and love, As the Father poured His blessings out from Heaven up above. Yet today that same old question is repeated year-by-year," Where's the promise of His coming ?" unsaved men ask with a sneer. Taunting those of us who love Him, doubting sounds are often heard; As rejecting God, they question, scorning Jesus and His Word. But our Lord is surely coming, though blasphemers curse His Name; Though the scoffers ridicule us, He is coming, just the same! As the ...

... seem determined to maintain. It isn't until we let our loved ones go, That we can help others and their feelings know. Otherwise, we are wrapped up in our own feelings, our grief, And are incapable of giving others suffering, relief. If we trust God and know no mistakes He makes, We should thank Him when one of our loved ones He takes. For never again will mental or physical pain they have to endure. Because their Heavenly Father loves them so, with Him they are secure. Though we've always known we'd each have to leave this earth one day, We pretend that time is far, far away. So to wish them back on earth even if we could, Would hurt them rather than do them good. Let go, let God be in charge of our dear one's life. Let go, let God remove all strife. So God can use us to help see others through, That ...

... I ever hope to heal The wounds of others I do not feel. If my eyes are dry and I never weep, If my heart is cold and it never bleeds, How can I tell what my brother needs, For when ears are deaf to the beggar's pleas, And we close our eyes and refuse to see, And we steel our hearts and harden our mind, And we count it a weakness whenever we're kind, We are no longer following the Father's way, Or seeking His guidance from day to day. For without crosses to carry and burdens to bear, We dance through a life that is frothy and fair, And" chasing the rainbow" we have no desire For roads that are rough and realms that are higher. So spare me no heartache or sorrow, dear Lord, For the heart that is hurt reaps the richest reward, And God enters the heart that is broken in sorrow As He opens the door ...

... there You may not now their name You may not no where they are But if you burdened in your heart Kneel and say a prayer for them Oh ' it could be someone Reaching for the Master's hand Low on strength and struggling And maybe they are under a strain Facing heartache and pain Don't ask why just say a prayer for them They could possibly even be Just across the street Or somewhere in another land In need of help you don't understand And reaching for the Father's hand So, say a prayer for them Like the papers on the street There's a dead line to meet You've got no time to spare no no time There is a hurting soul pleading Somewhere a heart is bleeding They are low on time so say a prayer for them Don't worry about what to ask for That's all clear to the Lord He's asking you for a little faith And it's not up to us to ask why We need to reach out for that cry Obey His ...
