... Side Stepping The photo album worn and old is sitting on the pile, She flips the cover open just to reminisce awhile. On the first page there she is, a baby in her lap, Her son when he was one year old; she smiles as she thinks back. That was taken in the park where she took him to play, Funny how it sometimes seems like only yesterday. But other times it seems those days are distant memories, And all we have reminding us are pictures such as these. She sees a picture of him with his second birthday cake, And smiles as she remembered of the face that he would make, When trying to blow out the candles he would have a fit, He tried so hard to blow them out but they would all stay lit. So Mom came to the rescue with a waving of her hand, The same time that he blew on it she waved a little fan. ...
... Reaping What You Sow I learned this humorous poem as a small child. It has spoken to me over the years of selfishness. Please stop me if you've heard this plan, (It's ancient as the dickens) Of how a very stingy man Thought he'd get rich with chickens. Said he," I'll not feed corn or wheat, I can't afford to buy it; But sawdust should be good to eat, I'll get a hen and try it" So he mixed sawdust with some oats, And bought a female chicken, And the waxed fat, like thrifty shoats, And they did not die, nor sicken. So day by day this thrifty guy, Who should have had his jaw bust, Cut down the oats, till bye and bye He fed her naught but sawdust. And she laid eggs, and all went well, Until one day he set her, And in three weeks she hatched out, well. ...
... 'Cause she was crying awful hard, And yelling at my dad. I tried my best to be real good, And do just what she said; I cleaned my room all by myself, I even made my bed. But I spilled milk on my good shirt, When she yelled at me to hurry; And I guess she didn't hear me, When I told her I was sorry. 'Cause she hit me awful hard, you see, And called me funny names; And told me I was really bad, And I should be ashamed! When I said," I love you, Mommy ," I guess she didn't understand; 'Cause she yelled at me to shut my mouth Or I'd get smacked again. So I came up here to talk to you, Please tell me what to do; 'Cause I really love my Mommy, And I know she loves me, too. And I don't think my Mommy means, To ...
... friends for so many years, God blesses us with memories that always bring tears. Maybe not surface ones to roll down our face. But deep in our hearts where time won't erase. Many happy ones, sure! But some sad ones, too. Of loved ones who have died and left us to feel blue. Until we begin to think just where they have gone. We're happy for them, but, we still feel alone! Then happy memories start funny stories we can tell. Tell Greta, I think of them often, and always wish them well! Your children are how old? My word! Seems like that can't be true! But look at our kids, they're all grown up, too! Dear Lord, I'm truly thankful, for friends we've known so long. Seems like every year that passes, our love only grows more strong! Continue to bless them, Lord, I pray so they will know ...
... lot. And It would have been harder to sway them, if you too hadn't been using pot. At your schools I have been at work, making sex an acceptable game. You slept while I fought to keep prayer out, To add to your neglectful shame. You don't seem to noticed the witchcraft; I broadcast on your own TV," It's just an innocent program ," Twitch your nose as they follow me. Add a couple violent sitcoms, It's funny to see heads blown in two. Now your little Tommy has his own gun and there's nothing you can do. They're mine and you cannot reach them; their hearts are cold, hard and black. I've showed them how to party, with pot, cocaine and crack. You have been a tremendous help though; I couldn't have done it alone. If you hadn't forsaken your prayer life, these seeds I could not have sown. So stay away from the Bible's ...
... He stared at all the Christmas lights, the tinsel everywhere, the shopping center Santa Claus with children gathered near. The mall was packed with shoppers who were going to and fro, some with smiles and some with frowns and some too tired to go. They rested on the benches or they hurried on their way to fight the crowd for purchases to carry home that day. The music from a stereo was playing loud and clear of Santa Claus and snowmen and a funny nosed reindeer. He heard the people talk about the good times on the way of parties, fun and good galore, and gifts exchanged that day. I'd like to know what's going on, the man was heard to say. There seems to be some sort of celebration on the way. And would you tell me who this is, all dressed in red and white? And why are children asking him about a special night? The answer came in disbelief," ...
... My Forgetter My forgetter's getting better But my rememberer is broke to you that may seem funny but, to me, that is no joke For when I'm" here" I'm wondering If I really should be" there" And, when I try to think it through, I haven't got a prayer! Oft times I walk into a room, Say" what am I here for ?" I wrack my brain, but all in vain A zero, is my score. At times I put something away Where it is safe, but, Gee! The person it is safest from Is, generally, me! When shopping I may see someone, Say" Hi" and have a chat, Then, when the person walks away I ask myself," who the heck was that ?" Yes, my forgetter's getting better While my rememberer is broke, And it's driving me plumb crazy And that isn't any joke. CAN YOU RELATE ??? ...
... stuffed and resting, while the kids have fun. The presents always have... a secret coded key, And the children notice it as they approach the tree. Sometimes the presents have a special number on a list, And Poppy looks the number up as they ask" whose is this ?" Sometimes they have some letters on them, you must match with him, Who has that letter anyway?. it's on his list again. Sometimes they have some funny names like goofy, slick or fuzz, And no one knows who they are for, but they know Poppy does. Poppy always makes a game and everyone will win, And it goes on for hours until time to eat again. All the presents opened now and toys are everywhere. They know it's Poppy's, but it looks like Santa was just there. Now it's time to top it off and they know what's in store, Desserts of every shape and size and ...
... home And makes it easier to part. A hug's a way to share the joy And sad times we go through, Or just a way for friends to say They like you 'cause you're you. Hugs are meant for anyone For whom we really care, From your grandma to your neighbor, Or a cuddly teddy bear. A hug is an amazing thing-It's just the perfect way To show the love we're feeling But can't find the words to say. It's funny how a little hug Makes everyone feel good; In every place and language, It's always understood. And hugs don't need new equipment, Special batteries or parts Just open up your arms And open up your hearts. Keep this hug going Pass it on to your buddies. ... A Child of Love Today they're speaking about how he has grown Since that very first day when they brought him home And they're speaking of little things he says and does Forever changing their lives from the way that it was They watch as he plays with his fingers and toes Or how he turns cross-eyed from touching his nose He'll make funny faces and make silly sounds And of the love they have for him there is no bounds If mom's in the kitchen preparing the meals She'll know where to find him; he's right by her heels And somehow she'll just know all he's getting into It's something that most moms just know how to do Or he'll sit in his highchair looking a mess Always making them wonder why they got him dressed He'll make messes of sweet peas, of carrots, or pears 'Til they say let's buy clothes with the food that he wears His dad picks him up and wipes off his chin Kidding," Oh there you are ...

... . So thinking quickly I pour some in, Then I see a frightening thing begin. A fiery face came to my eyes, It must be Satan in disguise! It grabbed the stove in a flaming grasp! I screamed, and gave a frightened gasp. What happened next I can't describe, But death threatened by my side. Let loose a wild lion in my den, But never, ever, will I cook again !!! ... of the parents with their duty, And realized I've seen first hand a part of nature's beauty. I also knew, to be so close and watch I had been blessed, But then one day I gazed out on a lonely empty nest. I never saw them leaving or the young learn how to fly, I thought that I might see it when it was the time to try. But life goes on and so does nature and I smile at this, Funny how the little things in life you sometimes miss. Because they teach a lesson of how precious life can be, Just like the cardinals that were guest in my azalea tree.~James A. Kisner~[ by James A. ... you send me to damnation? He replied, with your mouth you said you loved me, But you continued to rejected my salvation. With that in an instant, Day turned into night. I never knew such torture could be. Now too late, I know the Bible is right. If I can tell you anything, Hell has no age. It is a place of torture, Separated from God and full of rage. You know I thought it was funny-a joke, But this one thing is true. If you never accept Jesus Christ, HELL IS WAITING FOR YOU!
