... I Saw It Easter morning I awoke still filled with all my doubt. The others were confused and scared of how it all turned out. All our plans and dreams were gone our future looking bleak. Everything we had hoped for with nothing left to seek. Well I guess that life goes on you do the best you can. I had hoped He was the one but He was just a man. Today the air seems fresher as I walked out in the ... from your awful pain. All of us are hurting from His loss as it would seem, But we cannot go on in life while you live in a dream. ... note my friend of all the secrets of your being For the hidden thoughts of yesterday are the ones today you're seeing Plant often good. Cast out the bad and let your garden well be seeded With grains of truth, faith, hope, and love as they surely will be needed And the Day will come when all the fruit be gathered in The harvest vine. the grapes of wrath will be divided then Shall we rejoice in harvest song as the reaper takes his part ... Are known the secrets of each man by God and self alone And may be well compared unto a seed which had been sown Deep within the ground it lay. A planter put it there The ground held tight its little seed with hopes that it would bear In darkness it was harbored and later brought to light That the holding of its contents would be kept from human sight The pod began to open as the season swiftly passed The earth pushed forth its hidden grain being manifest ...

... , and if I could have I would ’ ve cried. The dead man was Jesus, God ’ s only Son; but later I heard He still lived. For the part that I'd played in causing His death, I hope God will forgive. God chose Him before the beginning of time to die on an old rugged cross. But God chose me, a simple iron nail, to do my part to help save the lost. God has a use for ... not purest gold. But many important things can be made from iron, I've been told. Strong tools are made from iron, so I could be put to good use. Since these are needed in life, this gave my hopes a new boost. One day I arrived at a smithy ’ s shop with metals of many kinds. I wondered what I would become, and what the smithy had in mind. So many times he melted me down, I could ...

... Rest, and all of us seniors were looking our best. Our glasses, how sparkly, our wrinkles, how merry; Our punchbowl held prune juice plus three drops of sherry. Our grandkids had sent us some Christmasy crafts, Like angels in snowsuits and penguins on ... us play games, Like" Where Are You Living ?" and" What Are Your Names ?" Old Grandfather Looper was feeling his oats, Proclaiming that reindeer were nothing but goats. Our resident wand'rer was tied to her chair, In hopes that at bedtime she still would be there. ... A Beacon of Hope When out on a ship in the stormy sea, filled with fear and anxiety, seeking a refuge in the night, a strong and steady guiding light to reassure and relieve the fright, a lighthouse offers security. As the lighthouse stands on a distant shore, giving hope where there was none before, providing a light that is steady and true, helping the ship come safely through, a strong fortress to navigate to, it's a beacon of hope as the waves crash and roar. When overcome by life's stormy sea, frightened and filled with uncertainty, God is a refuge in the night, a sure, dependable guiding light, providing a love that is always bright, a beacon of hope for you and me.~Connie Arnold~[ by: Connie Arnold Copyright 2009 (beautifulmomentsofjoyandpeace @yahoo.com)-from: Connie Arnold] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...

... an important part. Something very deep inside me that God ’ s laid on my heart. No matter how deeply I probe into it, it never becomes clear. In time, I suppose he ’ ll reveal this secret that lies deep within. I hope I have the courage & fortitude to handle the task or the sin. Hoping beyond hope that it ’ s nothing I ’ ve done against HIM. And able to conquer the task, so the spec of sunshine won ’ t grow dim. I wish to be a beacon that shines on all those who are lost. So they can find their way to HIM, when on the ocean waves are tossed. I want them to know my Savior and all the gifts ...

... Drought: Growing A Different Crop Dust clings tenaciously to nothing The roots of plants reach deep in vain Lips are parched-in need of liquid As, in desperation, we watch for rain Faith clings steadfast to little The roots of hope reach deep once more Hearts are parched-in need of revival As we seek God's face like times before The hope of rain may disappoint The crops may refuse to yield Our faith may go though testing Our heart's a dry and dusty field We CAN grow in the desert We CAN sing songs of praise The God of harvest hasn't left us He chose a different crop to raise Are we willing, fertile soil? Are we ready for the seed? He may leave our hearts unplanted Until we recognize our need And in the end, perhaps we'll say As hope springs forth new trust If blessings seem a long way off" We have faith in the God of dust" For when nourished with Living Water In ...

... The First Christmas Tree Long ago, a story ’ s told Of angels sent from Heaven's fold; Faith, Hope, and Charity. They were required to find a tree As high as hope, as great as love, And sweet as charity above. This tree, that they were sent to find, Was also meant to have a sign. On every bough, it was to bear The cross ' symbol; everywhere. The Christmas tree was yet unborn. The one they found would be adorned With lights. But first, the task at hand. To find the tree, they'd search the land. Their search was long. It ended north. Deep in the forest, the fir brought forth. The sign that they'd, in earnest, sought Was what the Christmas tree had taught. Break a fir's needle off the tree At the stub, on the branch. You will see, In nature's glory, a cross to ...

... I'm Painting Now The Picture When my hair is thin and silvered, and my time of toil is through; When I've many years behind me, and ahead of me a few; I shall want to sit, I reckon, sort of dreaming in the sun; And recall the roads I've traveled and the many things I've done. I hope there'll be no picture that I'll hate to look upon; When the time to paint it better or to wipe it out, is gone. I hope there'll be no vision of a hasty word I've said That has left a trail of sorrow, like a whip welt sore and red. And I hope my old age dreaming will bring back no bitter scene Of a time when I was selfish, or a time when I was mean. When I'm getting old and feeble, and I'm far along life's way, I don't want to sit regretting any bygone yesterday. I am painting now the ...

With nothing left to live for and his hope dashed into bits, Thinking of the life he had just drives him into fits. Now it is too late to wake up it has all been lost, Now he finally realizes what his life has cost. What a time to finally wake up here at Christmas season. Realizing what you did just had no rhyme or reason. Basking in self-pity with no future hope in site, Sitting all alone and crying in the cold dark night. The air is filled with glitter ...

... Castle Dreams I built a castle once, It stretched to the sky, It's towers and turrets, Were a mile high. And then this castle, Built on shaky ground, Though tall and beautiful, Came tumbling down. Because it was built, On broken dreams. On shattered hopes, And wishes never meant to be. And now they're crumbling, Beneath my feet, Because I built a castle on broken dreams. I sat among the rubble, Staring at my heart, Staring and wondering Whatever I did wrong. And through the ashes, I saw His face His tears were Washing new this place. Because I had stood, For nothing of worth, And stacked high my hopes On shaky ground. Now he was there, Picking up the pieces, Where I had built a castle on broken dreams. I stand in awe, Looking at this mansion, Looking at the way He brought me through. And I see the ...

... While others celebrate a holiday filling Santa socks Peace agreements are broken, leaving unsigned treaties People die worshiping so many other deities. O Little Town of Bethlehem will you ever sleep? Will the world ever know what secrets you keep? How one night the Peace Maker was born To bring the long promised Peace to a world forlorn. Crisis and turmoil spread through the Middle East Events foreshadow the coming of the prophesied beast Earthquakes and wars, famine and disease Is there no hope? Is there no peace? ... . We don't see any good-only the bad. We start out our lives with the world in our hands, but, as we grow older, forget what's been planned. We feel lost and confused-unloved and alone and sometimes our hearts feel hardened-like stone. We almost get blinded by our saddened thoughts-'till we no longer see what we've really got. We get numb to the love of our family and friends-we can't see the hope, the future-just the end. These words said to you in the hope you'll achieve-fall upon ears that no longer believe-that YOU are so special-a star in the night-who shines in His glory, your own special light. You feel so unworthy, but you don't know why and you search for the answers which just makes you cry. Sometimes you need someone to help sort it out-someone who will listen-to whom you ...

For two decades she lived down here, Arthritis got her knees; But in her youth I hope You watched Her shimmy up those trees! I saw her running to the house And then, for goodness sake! I saw what dangled from her mouth: A brownish, wriggling snake! Each new day found her sitting there Outside my bathroom door;" Good morning !"~pat upon the head Was all she waited for. ... I traveled through the pages of an old and sacred book, Finding great adventures on every page I looked. I saw the world created and dwelled in a garden fair, Until the hand of evil came and planted his seeds there. I sailed upon an ocean for forty days and nights, Soared on the wings of a dove as it lifted up in flight. I traveled through a wilderness over deserts hot and dry. I met a man named Abraham, whose hope, on God relied. I journeyed to distant lands, met with prophets and with kings. Fought in mighty battles wielding arrows, swords and slings. Then I rested in a stable where a tiny baby lay, I watched Him grow into a man and followed Him on His way. I walked upon the water of a raging, storm tossed sea. But the hardest journey of all was when He led me to Calvary. I cried as they nailed Him to a ...

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle mount to the sky, So flew away hope of a Christmas of joys, Not a problem was changed by the gifts and the toys. And then, in a twinkling, Dad knew without doubt, They needed to know," What is Christmas about ?" That night in a dream he saw Bethlehem town, And a babe in a manger with thorns for a crown! The will to rise has disappeared, all hope had fled away, so far behind, so error prone, closer all the way." I've lost, so what's the use ," he thought" I'll live with my disgrace" But then he thought about his dad who soon he'd have to face. Get up, and echo sounded low, get up and take your place. You were not meant for failure here, so get up and win the race. With Borrowed will," Get up !", It said," You haven't lost at all, for winning is not more than this, to rise each time you fall" So he rose to win once more, and with new commitment he resolved to win or lose, at least he wouldn't quit. So ...

... Artist Unknown The Anchor Holds Are you in the midst of a storm in your life right now? Hang on! I've been there, believe me. The only thing that remains constant, the only true Faithful One, is Jesus Christ. He never fails! God bless you as always." This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6: 19-20" I have journeyed Through the long, dark night Out on the open sea By faith alone Sight unknown And yet His eyes were watching me Chorus The anchor holds Though the ship is battered The anchor holds Though the sails are torn I have fallen on my knees As I faced the raging seas The anchor holds In spite of the storm I've had visions I've had dreams ...

... A Light On The Horizon There's a light on the horizon, Always been there calling to me; Predicting what the future holds, Telling me of new hope to be. For so long I refused to look, It made no sense to me at all; What was this light? I didn't know, I completely ignored its call. Then one day an awakening, My own life was slipping away; I was told there was little hope, And right then I began to pray. Dear God, I've had no use for You, Yet they tell me You still love me; If what they say is the real truth, Place Your healing hand upon me. That day our Lord heard my prayer, As He brought me under His care; Gave me the gift of a miracle, Now all of His love I'd like to share. During hard times when things are rough, God's only a prayer away; And when ...

... Last Farewell Let not your souls be weary Shed tears of joy my friends, The journeys just beginning, A life that never ends. ... The Bluebird A happy little bluebird came to visit me this spring. She lit along the windowsill and tapped upon the screen. I thought when I first saw her that she would soon be gone, But spring has turned to summer, and her tapping still goes on. Morning, noon, and night, whenever I sit in my chair, I look out of my window amazed to find her there. She has become a messenger that bears hope to my heart, Telling me by her sweet song that loved ones never part. I know God uses dear ones to comfort and to cheer, To bring alive the hope that dims when we are in despair. To me, this tiny bluebird bears a message that is true, God is ever faithful, and He's watching over you. He knows the sorrow of your loss, for He's lost someone, too. And by the power of His loss, the faithful are renewed. ...

... Always There An empty inbox, A broken heart, A silent cell phone, A past that's dark. A stained glass window, A murmured prayer, Among the lonely, A sense of despair. Despair can turn to hope, And loneliness is broken, When Christ is the center of life, And our hearts are turned wide open. Past experience gone, Washed away and new, He has promised life, And he has promised it to you! A shadowed future, Of uncertain days. A terrible longing, That always stays. That urgent cry, That desperate call, When all else fails, Where do the pieces fall? They fall right into His hands, And again, He picks them up, When the urge to live is greater, Than the power to give up! He hears every time that you call, And your tears are not unseen, The future lies distant and grim, But He knows just what ...

... What A Friend We Have In Jesus" And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God" James 2: 23 Not far from Port Hope, Ontario, stands a monument with this inscription:" Four miles north, in Pengally's Cemetery, lies the philanthropist and author of this great masterpiece, written at Port Hope, 1857" Above the inscription are the words of this beloved hymn. Joseph Scriven, its author, was a man who had experienced the friendship of Jesus through a life filled with personal tragedy. When Scriven was a young man in Ireland, his fiancee accidently drowned the evening before their wedding. Soon after this, he set sail for Canada. He seemed destined to live his life alone, with Jesus as his only close friend. Scriven never intended to publish this hymn. He wrote the words to accompany a ...

... Ticket To Heaven Lord, You are our refuge and strength. You are the rock on which we lean. You created us in Your own image, And we are each Your precious offspring. You offer comfort whenever we need it. You walk beside us along our way. You carry us ever close to Your heart, And give us hope to face each day. We are Your treasured possessions and Your love is an eternal love. You provide us all our daily needs. All good gifts come from You above. You know everything about us. You are familiar with all our ways. You knew us before we were even conceived, And ordained our number of days. Before we ever speak a word, You know what we're going to say. You are our great encourager, As we daily strive to walk Your narrow way. We know we are not a mistake, For we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Each day ...

... HOPE I spent each day, just searching, For my purpose here in life, And still I could not seem to find, A reason to survive. I struggled through my childhood, Without a loyal friend, And every single broken heart, Just never seemed to mend. My parents didn ’ t have the time, To tell me that they cared, They never came to comfort me, Those nights when I was scared. They told me I should toughen up, Don ’ t cry, and be a man, And when my life soon fell apart, They couldn ’ t understand. I turned to anything I could, To bury all my pain, And when my glass fell empty, I ’ d fill it up again. And over the years I drifted through, Many different towns, Longing to find something, To turn my life around. I spent each night, alone and cold Hungry and ashamed, Desperate ...

... When the Father Remains Silent When the Father remains silent like He does not hear your cries; When you feel that He's not listening, and the hope within you dies~When it seems He does not hear you and you feel He does not care; When you plead with Him to answer, but it seems that He's not there. When you feel He has abandoned you and left you on the shelf, When you feel that you're forsaken and there's no one but yourself. When it seems that your petitions have most surely been in vain; That's the time the Lord is closest and you feel His deepest pain. ... the kitchen table this morning. It was quiet. The hour was early and the world was still sleeping. I looked out the window and felt the need to pray. As I did, my eyes misted with tears and although frightened, I knew that I was not alone. I wrote this small poem / prayer to convey the feelings I had, but know that the words do not do it justice. I don't know if any ever will. It's my hope that when you are in need, you" hear" the silent footsteps of God, coming to your side and comforting you like a child. For that's what we all are, to me. The sack never empties of love, or of joys 'Cause inside it are prayers and hope. Not just toys. The more that I give, the fuller it seems, Because giving is my way of fulfilling dreams." ... Sugarplum Dreams 'Twas the night after Sugarplum came to live with us-We hoped with our hearts that she'd cause us no fuss. So lively a puppy, we never expected; If she was too wild, she'd soon be ejected. Visions of Sugarplum danced in our heads as we both snuggled down to sleep in our beds. But what to our wondering ears should resound but the yipping and yapping of one little hound. Outside at 4: 30, the night was still darkened, but Daddy, unnerved, had got up from her barking, and lo, in the grass that was cold now with dew, she squatted and whiffled and let out some poo. Then back in her dog-bed, she settled once more as Daddy closed firmly the bedroom door. Awakened at seven, we rose to her clatter wondering what on earth now was the matter. It seemed that she only desired to play and barking was merely her start for ...

God is the God of miracles; This saying, though old, is true. From the gleaming sun of creation; To the tiniest flower of blue. From whispering winds of refreshment; To showering splashes of streams. From beautiful fields of flowers; Colorful rainbows, bright stars and dreams. Each an amazing miracle; Bringing faith to a doubting heart. God's hand has created great fountains; In dry cold desert places of dark. On dead soil, a desert lay waste; Until the hand of God intervenes. The miracle hand of God's grace; Sprouts flowers in places not seen. I have, found beautiful rare flowers; Not known to the natural man. Found in the places of God's touch. With You we need not fear, No worries to consume our minds, For each moment lies in Your hands, With You peace is what we'll find. We may lose our worldly possessions, Relationships may come and go, But Your presence is ever abiding, Your blessings will always flow. ... Yesterday Yesterday I dug it out, I hoped once more to sing John Peterson's cantata, simply called," Behold Your King" The music is so beautiful, I love the way it plays; The chords so rich, the voice so true, it haunts my mind for days. I'd played it while in high school, knew it backwards, upside-down, When all the churches gathered and performed it for the town. The choir director leaned on me to act as her right hand," Pound out the tenors ' part ," she'd say, and I would understand. My fingers knew the piece by heart but I found yesterday, My heart welled-up so full of tears until I couldn't play. My trembling fingers faltered where they crucify the Lord, I found I started blubbering and couldn't play the chord. My eyesight was so blurry that I couldn't read the score, I had to stop and blow my nose a dozen times or ...

... Thoughts Of Home I guess that I just couldn't wait To get away from home, To spread my wings, learn to fly, And over the earth to roam. Now that I'm here in foreign lands, My thoughts return to you; I hope you're proud of who I am And what I'm trying to do. But now that I'm gone, thoughts of home Are always on my mind; The memories of the love you gave, Which proved that love was blind. What, I think, if you should die While I am far away; And I would see your loving face No more 'til judgment day. If I could never say again The words you like to hear, To tell you of the love I have, How your memory is so dear. So I must tell you while I can, Before you have gone on; Give you flowers while you live, Not waiting until you're gone. You taught me ...

... We Praise You Lord We bow down to You Lord and praise Your name. Because of Your love, our Savior came. He was crucified and He died on the cross, to save all those in this world who are lost. Without Your love and Your gift of grace, there would be no hope for the human race. You planned this long before creation began. It was the most wonderful part of your plan. You knew man would be a sinful creature. You sent Your Son to become man ’ s teacher. He was the sacrifice for Your gift of salvation, offered first to Your chosen, then the Gentile nations. He was a simple man and He lived a sinless life. Not unlike us, He faced rejection and strife. He was gentle and kind and was a humble soul. His earthly life fulfilled all prophecies foretold. Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said? Does one whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead? Did you waste the day or use it? Was it well or sorely spent? If my eyes are dry and I never weep, If my heart is cold and it never bleeds, How can I tell what my brother needs, For when ears are deaf to the beggar's pleas, And we close our eyes and refuse to see, And we steel our hearts and harden our mind, And we count it a weakness whenever we're kind, We are no longer following the Father's way, Or seeking His guidance from day to day. For without crosses to carry and burdens to bear, We dance through a life that is frothy and fair, And" chasing the rainbow" we have no desire For roads that are rough and realms that are higher. So spare me no heartache or sorrow, dear Lord, For ...

... could I keep her safely underneath my wing. I had to let you venture out discover all that's new. I think, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Many men can tell you as a father it can be, Scary when you let your daughter finally be free. You teach them right you teach them wrong your wisdom you impart. And then you set them free and let them follow their own heart. You guide them and you hope and pray the choices that they make. Create a life of happiness with every step they take. So on this night before I give my little girl away, I have written down the words and from my heart I'll say. You've grown into a woman from that little girl of mine. And I am proud to be your father you turned out just fine. In my mind I'll always see my daughter running wild. Playing all the little games when she was just ...

... Miracle At the end of a long and painful week, when Life had gone astray, And the twin sins, Spite and Anger, had visited each day. As my dreams left me abandoned -all alone and in dismay. I could really use a miracle, to fix the things that broke, To mend the battered friendships, to restore my shattered hopes, To heal my wounded ego -to patch my broken heart. It may not happen all at once -but a miracle's a start"" I could use a chance to redeem myself -to show I really care, And take the time to prove my worth to loved ones everywhere, I'd appreciate a little time to try to make amends, If things I've said or done this week have hurt my dearest friends." ... Could it be submission that pain yields at end of day? Could it be that God is really, truly glorified When joy that comes through troubles is doubly amplified? ... I Observe The Sky I observe the sky, it's aweing wonders, The clouds, the Sun, it's crashing thunders, Without a problem I can see, A bright reflection of glory; To whom belongs this awesome glory? A place called Israel begins the story, With pagan men and sinful folk, Came the owner, who gave them hope; The Father came to promise His children, Salvation cried upon the horizon, For those who welcomed His holy plan, The Father welcomes the righteous man; O Bethlehem, that holy place, A saviour born, how bright His face, The mother Mary, espoused to the Father, Gave birth to the first born; Jesus, rather; Tearful love our God has shown, For He did give, His Son, His own, On a cross was Jesus slain, To bear the sin by means of pain; For this my heart burns bright with love, Soaring high just like ...

... as though I ’ m with you. There ’ s a new life to be found" It is then, when all is darkness, and life ’ s at its very worst, You can feel his words of comfort, like a rain cloud that has burst, Start to heal your heart that ’ s broken. As with tears your soul ’ s awash, There ’ s a stillness creeping through you. It is then you hear THE HUSH. I hope this little talk will help us as Christians to support our brothers and sisters who are grieving over the loss of a loved one, no matter how long it takes for them to get over it. ... In My Prayers As you make your way through a fog of tears, a landslide of heartache and multiple fears, I'll remember you in my prayers. While God holds you safe in the palm of His hand and sends His angels to help you stand, I'll remember you in my prayers. Each minute you long for peace and rest, courageously fighting this willful test, I'll remember you in my prayers. When a ray of hope pierces the night and your faith is renewed by the heavenly sight, I'll drop to my knees and thank the Lord for the grace of prayer and your spirit restored. ... so many ways, And some I've yet to see. All I possess has come from You. And You continue to bless me each day. It seems the closer I get to You, More blessings come my way. Some blessings that You give me, Outwardly are not perceived. But these are much more valuable, Than others I have received. When I am blessed with inner peace, And joy permeates my soul, When I can live with a future hope, I treasure these more than gold. You never withheld Your blessings, The times I went astray. You always continued to bless me, Though I was in sin and far away. You had to get my attention, When I was being so unwise. The fiery trials You put me through, Were just blessings in disguise. Thank You for Your compassion, And Your willingness to forgive, Thank you for Your blessings, That You truly love to give. Emily ...

... so out of focus you cannot see your way clear. Your courage is never so locked away you cannot break free from your fear. Your love is never so tiny a stream it cannot flow with a force. Your soul is never so drifted away it cannot get back on its course. Your faith is never so lost in a storm it cannot sail high on the seas. Your prayers are never so long forgotten you cannot get down on your knees. You hope is never so far from memory you cannot have total recall. Your will is never so shaken and weak you cannot survive a hard fall. Your life is never so worthless a thing you cannot bring dignity to it. Your day is never so empty a void you cannot fill up and renew it. Your 'nevers ' are never so final you cannot reach out for the bliss, the peace, protection and safety, the anchor of God's sacred kiss. [Terri McPherson ...
