She whispers softly to her Mother hoping that she hears, And says I love you mommy as she wipes away more tears. Ten months had passed since it was placed upon this piece of sod, And also words etched on the stone said" she is now with God" This Mother's Day will come and go and she won't celebrate, So many things she would have said but now it is too late. She should have told her Mother many things before she died, But she had been too busy and she had ...

Sharing Pain With Teddy Bear Teddy, I've been bad again, My Mommy told me so; I'm not quite sure what I did wrong, But I thought that you might know. ... Daddy's Day Her hair up in a pony tail, her favorite dress tied with a bow Today was Daddy's Day at school, and she couldn't wait to go But her mommy tried to tell her, that she probably should stay home Why the kids might not understand, if she went to school alone But she was not afraid; she knew just what to say What to tell her classmates, on this Daddy's Day But still her mother worried, for her to face ... ... A Lie This was a story my mother told me when I asked her if she ever lied to me, other than Santa, the Easter Bunny, tooth fairy etc. She said she would never lie to me about anythng no matter what and this is why. “ Mommy what is that ?” Linsey asked her Mommy as she was changing her baby brother. She was only three so her Mommy brushed it off and said anything just to pacify her. “ Oh that ’ s something they forgot to cut off in the hospital when Shawn was born ” Then totally forgot all about it for she was busy, tired and exhaustively forlorn. A week later while her mommy was hanging up clothes in the back. Lindsey remembered what her mommy told her and had a scissors in her lap. Her mother heard an ungodly scream that sent chills up and down her spine. She dropped the clothespins immediately and in the direction of her baby she ...

... One of Momma ’ s Hugs Sometimes I need a hug, not just any hug, but a hug from my Mother. The memories come flooding back and then the tears. Oh. How I remember my Momma ’ s hugs. Every time I do my heart feels small tugs. The warmth inside made everything okay. Having no fear, no pain, they all went away. No words were needed for her to say. ‘ Cause her gentle arms quietly relayed. Everything I needed to heal and know. That I would be alright for she loved me so. OH, how I need her hugs now and then. When I need comfort and I need a friend. There are so many things I miss of my Mom. But the hugs most of all to remove all the qualms. At those times when I feel I need her hug NOW! I realize its something my Heavenly Father will not allow. That ’ ...

... fell But lightly on my ear, And for the gentle warnings I felt an inward sneer. But Mother would not yield her boy To Satan's sinful sway, And though I spurned her counsel She knew a better way. She made my room an altar, A place of secret prayer, And there she took her burden And left it in His care. And morning, noon and evening By that humble bedside low, She sought the aid of Him who Understands a mother's woe. And I went my way unheeding, Careless of the life I led, Until one day I noticed Prints of elbows on my bed. Then I saw that she had been there Praying for her wayward boy, Who for love of worldly pleasure Would her peace of mind destroy. Long the conflict raged within me, Sin against my Mother's prayers, Sin must yield-for Mother never While she daily met Him there. And her constant love and patience Were like ...

... shine. And then they took the offering plate. And put in it their last dime. They took a broom and swept the floor. And picked up broken glass. They got it all so nice and neat. And then they mowed the grass. They lifted up the old church sign. And stood it by a tree. Right down by that old dirt road. Where everyone could see. They ran back home, to find Daddy gone. But their Momma was inside. Just to find her hurt again. Where Daddy had made her cry." Don't cry Momma, wipe those tears ," Little Bill and Tommy smiled." Cause we have a big surprise for you. Just down the road a mile" Hand in hand they tugged at her. Until they made her run." What is it Bill, Oh Tommy, Just what have you two kids done ?" And then they came upon the house. ... Daughter You Will See When you were just a baby, and I looked into your eyes, I loved you more, my little one, than you could realize. To hold my precious little girl, and see your little face, I had been blessed beyond compare, with God's own loving grace. He gave you to me, and I love you more than you could know, A love that is so special, and all mothers know it's so. A mother's love is endless, and will last an eternity, But children do not understand, how much love that can be. A special love that mother's have, and only they can show, And only when you are a mother, can you truly know. To love so much a little one, that is a part of you, A part of you to love and cherish, mothers know it's true. You watch them grow, and hope they have prospered in your ...

... take them home. I've searched the area high and low, but I can't find their dad. He must have fled the scene, I guess, and that is very bad" The mother hugged the twins and said, while wiping at a tear," He could not flee the scene, you see, for he's been dead a year" The cop just looked confused and asked," Now, how can that be true ?" The boys said," Mommy, Daddy came and left a kiss for you. He told us not to worry and that you would be all right, and then he put us in this car with the pretty, flashing light. We wanted him to stay with us, because we miss him so, but Mommy, he just hugged us tight and said he had to go. He said someday we'd understand and told us not to fuss, and he said to tell you, Mommy, he's ...

... Today I Shall Not Weep Today is Mother's death-date and it's quite alright with me, In years past I have wept and mourned, but now I've been set free; For last year something happened, and it strangely gave me peace, The grieving that had bound my heart gave way to sweet release. For it was just last year this month that Daddy passed away, His heart belonged to her and God, and on that final day His guardian angel took his hand, and said," I think you know, Your loved ones all are waiting, sir, it's time for us to go." A mighty celebration, sir, to be held on this date, And you're the guest of honor, sir, it's best we not be late! For God Himself has planned it thus, and therefore it shall be, Ere earth was formed this date was writ by Heavenly decree !" So Daddy took the angel's hand and ...

... A Mother's Special Love Our Heavenly Father could have sent His Son with angels bright; God could have sent Him fully grown To save man from his plight. But He who is all wisdom Chose to place in hands of love The future of the universe, The glory of above. He knew there was no other love On earth which could compare To the unique devotion Of a mother's special care. So deep His trust in this rare love, His faith in it so sure; He gave a mother His own Son, Entrusting Him to her. In doing so, God lifted up This role above all others, And proved that there's a soft spot In His heart of hearts for mothers! -Connie-[ by: Connie Hinnen Cook (cjcook @mynewroads.com)-from Connie Hinnen Cook] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...

... waiting for the school bus at your side, So when the bus would get in sight, she quickly stepped aside. She goes on through the album like a trip down through the years, And as she goes from page to page her eyes start forming tears. All through his life she stood by him in everything he tried, Until he could do it alone and then she stepped aside. But even though she stepped aside she was always near, With a mother's worried heart and with a mother's fear. Knowing that a day would come when life would have a plan, For her little boy who now has grown to be a man. She closes up the album and looks at the fireplace, She sees his picture on the mantle with his smiling face. Called to active duty and he's serving now with pride, And once again with worried heart, she had to step aside. [by James A. Kisner 2002 (PoppyK1 ...

... Mark Of Family In most all of our families There is a" Mark" of birth. We look something like our parents, While we're here on earth. You have your dad's brown eyes. Also your mom's blue eyes. We all have things inherited. But sometimes it doesn't seem fair! My brother has Dad's brain. My sister has Mom's eyes. I wish I had inherited other, Than just Aunt Lucy's thighs! I do have one family mark. From my heavenly Father above. He said they can tell His children, Because our hearts overflow with love! He said that He would make for us. A place in Heaven fair. And He will have it ready, By the time we enter there! While we are here on earth, We have a mark of our Father, it's true! We strive to keep His written laws. Like-you love me and I love you. The Bible says that ...

... flown so fast. For it seems like only yesterday I helped him with his shirt, Or pat my baby on the back, Or kissed away a hurt. Tell a story, read a book, wipe a nose, or tie a shoe. They never ask me to rub their backs the way they used to do. Once it was a bother, just a troublesome kind of chore. but now I would give anything to do it just once more. Mommy, bounce me on your knee, Daddy, flip me in the air. Throw a rubber ball to me and help me comb my hair. Mommy, tickle my tummy. Daddy hold me high. Lets go outside, for a while, or make a kite to fly. I count it as a privilege I count it cause for praise To kiss my children goodnight at the close of everyday. For I know too soon they're up and gone And walking out the ...

... My Mother You carried me for many months Just beneath your heart; In preparation for the life Your new born child would start. Your mother's heart watched over me, As I grew these many years, And during my trials and troubles You bathed my path with tears. You helped me to adulthood grow With values I hold dear; And taught me how to face my doubts, And overcome my fears. Our life has been so closely knit And to each other tied, By the bond of a mother's wonderful love That would not be denied. Now you have gone to be with Jesus, The Christ whom we both love. My heart already misses you As you worship up above. But I thank my God for giving us The love that we both share; And for the comfort that you know While praising Him up there. I thank you for the time we spent Together you and I And one day I will come to ...

... share this special day I'm so filled up with pride. For years I watched you growing up and always on the go, And as we share this day there's something you should know. You've always been a head strong child, determined and secure, Your attitude about your life was always strong and sure. You reached for life and wanted it to be all it could be, And I just want to tell you what your life has meant to me. A mother's love is special and one day you'll understand, When you have your children and you hold their little hand. At first it may seem scary because you're responsible, For a little life that you have brought into this world. But as they share your life with you then slowly you will see, And then you'll finally understand how much you mean to me. Then when you are a mother and see through a mother's eyes, Then you'll know the love I feel and ...

She preferred to live alone after my dad's death, Because she said she never would become somebody's pest. ... I'll See You In Heaven Thank you Mommy and Daddy, For the little time we had together, But now I'm on my way to Heaven, And without you it will seem forever. As I strolled through Heaven's Gates, I was greeted by a Heavenly Host. They said," Follow us, oh little one, And we will show you who loves you most" Then they said," Look through Heaven's portals" I gazed through the portal, looking down, There stood you, Mommy and Daddy, With a bright light all around. Now I know you are not alone, I saw Jesus by your side, He will help you with all your sorrow, And with you He always will abide. I asked our Lord here in Heaven, As He sat me on His knee, Please, when it's time for you to come, Your souls will again, be with me. I know it's hard for you ...

... A Birthday Gift for Mother It's my late Mother's birthday and it's true I miss her so, And it is on this very day my Gabriel chose to go. A regal, gorgeous all-white cat, Gabriel was my heart's pride, His presence will be sorely missed and mourned, now that he's died. Gabe's wide eyes, so intelligent, he knew when I was down. He'd lick my hand and pat my face and play the circus clown. My Gabe was so affectionate, his spirit full of love, His heart as big as all outdoors and gentle as a dove. Now Mother's smile will greet him and she'll hold him all day long, She'll cuddle him as angels dance and sing the birthday song. Dear God, I need help and direction from You, to bring up my children Your way" She took her dusty Bible down from the shelf and wearily started to read, but she drifted to sleep and started to dream of a garden, ready for seed. She heard a sweet voice speaking loud and clear:" My grace is sufficient for you. Just listen to the words I am speaking; whatever I say to you-do. The heart of each child is a garden, and it needs to be tended with care. I will give you all that you require if you water your own heart with prayer. Warm nurture and firm admonition are both needed to balance the soil. Come often to Me for instruction and strength as in their hearts ' garden you toil" The next day, she started preparing ...

... Remember To Smile A smile can light a candle, In a lonely heart, It's like a sunny morning, That warms a new day's fresh start. Like a new mother's smile that cradles Her baby with pure love, Or a father's smile when he gives his young son, A new baseball glove. When we think about the world's sad woes, The hungry and the poor. We often do what is expected, But a smile will open the door. There's problems with acceptance Of so many strangers on our shore, But a warm smile can often lighten, Someone's day as never before. Sometimes a smile is like a rainbow, Shining through a misty cloud, That cheers an aggravated soul, In the midst of an unseeing crowd. Remember to smile today, Every where you go. It may not solve all the problems, But it will soften life's not so gentle blows. A smile is good medicine, It can turn ...

Some baking soda to make them rise; my muffins could win a baking prize! Bran muffins for my Honey's lunch. I didn't skimp-I made a bunch! He left for work that autumn day. I tasted one. To my dismay, something was wrong with my special treat! One bite revealed-they were not sweet! The batter was not too thick or thin; I just didn't put the sugar in! My good intentions are not enough if I don't add the proper stuff! I spread on jelly; it helped them not; inside they were a bitter lot. That night, my hubby had a pout. He said he spit his muffin out! The moral of this muffin tale is: follow the recipe ...

... The Puzzle Piece I woke up one morning Feeling empty inside. I knew I hadn't been Letting God be my guide. I walked to the kitchen To fix my morning tea. There on the floor, playing, Sat my daughter, Emily. She said, Mommy, I can't find The last piece to this heart. I looked down at the puzzle, And a search I did start. As I returned the piece, To the place where it belonged, I realized the gap in my heart And that I was too headstrong. I knelt down in my bedroom And sent God a silent prayer. I felt His presence with me And blessed assurance in the air. My life was complete-There no more was a gap. ... Living Treasures I have sunlight on my shoulders with bright blue skies ahead, And bluebirds sang a song for me while I was still in bed. There's a hint of spice and cinnamon brought by the morning breeze, And there's a touch of red and gold appearing in the trees. Days are growing shorter now and nights can bring a chill. The squirrels are hiding acorns in the woods beside the mill. Mom's making apple cider and filling mason jars. September nights have been so clear you can see a million stars! It's harvest time upon the earth, a time for giving thanks, For these, the living treasures, we never find in banks. God showers us with blessings sometimes great, sometimes small. And for these, the living treasures, we praise Him for them all! [by Clay Harrison-from Lady Millie, via Aiken Drum] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...

... a tempting craft, And gazing down the oven's shaft, I start to wonder if I can, cook a dinner in a pan. The cooking magic I will work! No more will I be a takeout jerk! I'll prove to the world what I can be! I'll make a meal just for you and me. Into the kitchen with brave strides, I walk like a wolf with focused eyes. And thinking back to high school days, I recollect my mother's cooking ways. Spaghetti? Oh, that sounds good! I grab the package where I stood. Meatballs I shall add to the deal. They'll make an even better meal. My mother always said to add the veggies, but they make me mad. To top it off I'll put oil in the pan, I've heard olive oil will make it grand. I say a prayer, turn the knob, And a blue flame begins to throb. It's magic, that's ...

... Cracker Soup What a wonderful blessing I have received and it all was because of Cracker Soup... Oh how I loved cracker soup when I was sick and small. It warmed my little tummy and I loved it best of all. So as I grew that ’ s all I wanted when I was sick in bed. And that ’ s what my Mommy gave me; it ’ s what I was fed. No wonder I continued the tradition when my kids were small. It too became their favorite when unwell & when growing tall. They loved to watch me make it and stood right by the stove. Until it was completely finished cooking and into it they dove. Now my grandchildren also love it, even when they are well. They all know how to make it, but they would never tell. For it has been a family secret for more years than I can count. Making it for dear sick friends ...

... Daddy's Son With a giggle and grin you greet me at the door, Your smile so sweet I could never ask for more. Not a care in the world does your little mind know, Just looking for the light of a fathers soul. Come on lets play, maybe throw me a ball, Catch some fish in the pond, or race cars in the hall. With a tear in my eye, I had to look away, Your mother's hand on my shoulder lay, She's whispering" daddy we'll be ok you must hurry now or you'll be late, You only have two hours to be at the gate" You look at me and say" daddy you don't have to go, Just tell them this is my Birthday and I said no" You're a big boy now, five you turned today, you have to understand that I can not stay. You say ok and walk down the hall, Come back with ...

... to be from God above. The only real glimpse of Heaven is her unconditional love. For this is how our Father is in Heaven. Don't you see? It doesn't matter what a worm I am, He still shows great love for me. I find Him always there, whether resting or at play. I know His first concern, is my welfare everyday. His unconditional love, whether I am good or bad, reminds me of the love, from Mother's touch I had. ... you are lovely when at us you smile. Some of you mothers are grandmothers too, So your days for teaching children are certainly not through. Grandchildren love grandmothers and need them you see, To love them and teach them and their friend to be. Thank God you're a mother and enjoy today, And know that we mean all the good things we say. We love you and need you every day of the year, And we're glad to express it when Mother's Day is here. We tell God we're thankful for each one of you, But so often we're neglectful and forget to tell you. ... eyes to see My precious beloved family. I am so blessed to hold dear Those whose faces I see through the year. There is my husband, who tries so hard, To be my provider, protector and bard. In his wisdom God chose a man for me Whose whole life revolves around his family. I know the most important person in his life Above anyone else, is his wife. In his wisdom God gave to me Two children that love their mommy. Everyday I'm blessed to have them near Makes more memories to hold dear. In his wisdom God planted me in A family permanently committed to Him. To give me roots upon which to grow So that from infancy love I would always know. A mother and father, who hovered over my breath, So that my baby eyes would not close in death. Two loving hearts that watched me mature And a few growing pains of adolescence endure. Three sibling trees that grew ...

... A Child's Love A child's love is like a whisper, given in little ways we do not hear. But if you listen closely it will be very clear. They often do not say it loud, but in how they come to you. Daddy, will you play with me? Mommy, tie my shoe? The many ways they tell you, changes as they grow. Dad, I made the team today! Mom, I've Got to go! Pop, I need some money, You see there's. this girl at school. Mama, I met a boy today and Wow, he's so cool! Dad, I've got something to tell you. I think she is the one! ... A Child of Love Today they're speaking about how he has grown Since that very first day when they brought him home And they're speaking of little things he says and does Forever changing their lives from the way that it was They watch as he plays with his fingers and toes Or how he turns cross-eyed from touching his nose He'll make funny faces and make silly sounds And of the love they have for him there is no bounds If mom's in the kitchen preparing the meals She'll know where to find him; he's right by her heels And somehow she'll just know all he's getting into It's something that most moms just know how to do Or he'll sit in his highchair looking a mess Always making them wonder why they got him dressed He'll make messes of sweet peas, of carrots, or pears 'Til they say let's buy clothes with the food that he wears His dad picks him up and wipes off his chin Kidding," Oh there you are ...

Lord, my day is so long Yet you keep me happy and strong And You give me such joy in my children. ... , The angel would not shine. But, Mom would not throw it away, She said it looked just fine. She loved that little angel, That she put upon our tree. She said it didn't need a light, For anyone to see. Then I grew up, and I moved out, To start my family. And, I'd go home at Christmas time, To help her trim her tree. My wife and children went with me, To mom's house every year. The house was filled with love and joy, As we shared Christmas cheer. The kids would always say to her, The angel is burned out. Then, she would smile and tell them, What the angel's all about. She told another reason, For it's specialty. Your daddy picked that angel out, When he was only three. My mother passed away this year, Early in the spring. And then I had the painful task, ...

... 'Twas The Fight Before Christmas 'Twas the fight before Christmas when all through the house Not a good deed was stirring, and Dad was a louse! Their mother was angry and loaded with care, 'Cause the gift list was longer than ever this year! The children were nagging for gifts worth a ton, And Dad was convinced," Christmas just isn't fun !" With Mom's loud complaining, and Dad mad at all, They loaded the car for the trip to the mall! They stopped first at Sears to buy Grandma a platter, At Wards Sis tried on jeans that confirmed she was fatter! They stopped at the ATM for some more cash, And saw their new neighbors with THEIR Christmas stash! Hearts sank as they saw what their neighbors could spend," We've got to buy more !" Everybody chimed in! When, what to their shopping red eyes should appear, But a sign with the answer to their Christmas fear." ...

... Mother-Love" She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed" (Proverbs 31: 26-28) She mends small socks and mends each hurt, And smiles at faces caked with dirt, She answers questions all day through Like," Why did God make Heaven blue ?"" Mommy, come quick! I found a bug !" She oohs and ahs, and gives a hug, Then takes the time to stop and praise Some daring feat meant to amaze. She packs a lunchbox, shiny new, Inserts a note:" I'm glad you're you !" And then puts in some extra stuff In case some kid won't get enough. She watches o'er each little one From break of day till setting sun, And when the clock says time for bed, When ...

... Little Girls Who wears dresses, bows and curls? Who loves diamonds, jewels and pearls? Who loves a frilly dress that twirls? The answer must be little girls. Who loves her little baby-doll? Who loves stuffed bears and names them all? Who dreams of going to a ball? The answer I'm sure you'll recall. Who dresses up in mother's clothes? Who pretends to powder her nose? Who loves to smell a blooming rose? The answer, everybody knows. Who dreams of a valiant knight? Who enjoys a pillow fight? Who is charming and polite? The answer's plain as black-and-white. Who is pretty, kind and sweet? Who is dainty, nice, and neat? Who's as precious as a pearl? The answer must be little girls.~Alyssa Marie Bentham~[ by: Alyssa Marie Bentham Copyright 2009 (retrogal27 @yahoo.com)-submitted by: Alyssa Bentham] Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. ...

... words to you. Then I would not forget my thoughts as I so often do. It's hard for me to realize that you are twenty-one. It seems like only yesterday your life had just begun. I remember your first steps and when you started walking. And" daddy" was your first word when you finally started talking. I remember coming home from work at five each day, Then you would jump into my arms and always you would say," Mommy" Daddy's home from work and now we all can eat. Dinner time with you and Mom would make my day complete. After dinner you would always show me something new. Something you had made for me or something you would do. Then you went to school and started growing up so fast, The little homemade arts and crafts became things from the past. Becoming independent as you reached your teenage years. Learning how to deal with life and overcome your fears. ...

The pot was standing on a wall and to ensure it wouldn't fall I moved it to a safer place where enemies could not give chase-then in the pot plant in the shade one spotted little egg was laid. Onto the porch I daren't go to clean, to read, to knit or sew. For fear of frightening Momma dear I kept my distance; I steered clear and far away from chick and nest so that she could relax and rest. The long awaited day arrived and to make sure that it survived I prayed and asked our God up High to undertake 'till it could fly; that He supply its every need until itself the chick could feed.
