Psycho Kitty

I have a psycho kitty... I'm serious. My pet cat, Murphy, is not the most intelligent creature God ever created. See Murphy likes to play with my sister's hair bows. He knocks them around, chases them, rolls around, and just has a joyful ole' time hitting that little cloth covered rubber band around. Occasionally, Murph will knock that hair bow under the couch where it's lost forever, but he doesn't accept that. Instead Murphy backs up and runs with all his might right into the couch, trying to get his paw underneath it. And then he does it again... You can hear the scuffling of his feet SHH SHH SHH SHH and Thunk! as he nails the couch. All he wants is to play with that little hair bow one more time, even though he knows he'll get hurt if he keeps trying to get it.

Well, we Christians kind of do the same thing. We know that we are "born again" and that God has separated us from our sins, but we still like to dabble with sin and play with it despite the fact that it hurts! So we continue to hit a wall in our relationship with Jesus simply to touch that sin one more time. Yet all we're doing is hurting ourselves.

Sin always leads to death! Whether it be death in relationships, goals, or even physical death it always leads to death! We don't have time to play games with Jesus. Today is the day to serve Jesus; to come back if we're straying, and to get ourselves back on God's perfect track. Who are you serving today? Jesus alone, or are you dabbling with the devil too?

Jesus said, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other."   Matthew 6:24
