As the sun rises
As the sun sets
As the clouds gather
As the sky sweats

As the tides rise
As the moon shines
As the rivers flow
As the wind blows pine

So is God's awesome power displayed.

As with summer sun
As with winter snow
As with greening spring
As with autumn's glow

As with heart's desire
As with mind's reason
As with soul's longing
As with strength's treason

So is God's awesome passion conveyed.

As with wars and conflict
As with troubled minds
As with fear unrivaled
As with peace we find

As with hearts of children
As with hearts of dads
As with hearts of families
As with hearts made glad

So is God's awesome tenderness made known.

As with rugged timber
As with metal stakes
As with crown of thorns
As with punishment He takes

As with empty covering
As with vacant grave
As with scars reminding
As the Lord saves

So is God's awesome love best shown.
