Be Near Me

I would climb the highest mountain,
Just to touch your face, dear Lord.
I would walk the deepest valley,
If your hand there I could hold.

I will stroll the crowded sidewalks
Of the city where I live,
To find the person who is hungry
For the message that you give.

Dark and bleak the cry is sounded
From the jails so filled with pain.
May I make for one a difference
As I tell your love again.

If today there is no fresh air
From the mountain heights above,
No touching your dear face
To fill my aching heart with love;

Still I know that You are with me
In whatever task You give
And the joy will come tomorrow
If today, with You I live.
