Serving the Needy

Finding Dignity

Don't look to someone else for dignity.
Look within your soul and you will see
It is God alone who gave that gift to you,
And, with it, the will to choose what you will do.

If you decide to squander it away,
Unhappiness will haunt you night and day.
Every path you take will lead nowhere
If you're content to say that life's unfair.

When in your heart, you recognize what's true:
Your future's up to only God and you,
It is then that you can turn your life around
And break the chains that seem to hold you down.

With every breath you take, He's by your side,
Omnipotent Creator, Savior, Guide.
And you? You are the apple of his eye;
To give the gift of life, He had to die.

When you look into the mirror, who do you see?
Just the familiar face of someone you call me
Or do you see the miracle within;
An image sculpted by His loving hand?

You are very precious in His sight;
Accept Him and He'll lead you to the Light.
It's when you turn to Him on bended knee,
You will find true peace and dignity.
