From Here to Eternity

I heard the roar of thunder claps
Reverberate loudly in my ear
As God spoke to me of judgement,
And my eyes welled up with tears.

My mind bowed low to Jesus,
My heart did genuflect,
I surrendered my self to mighty God,
My life a total wreck.

His look of satisfaction
Rolled the weight of hell away;
His welcoming opened arms
Drew me close that very day.

I heard His still gentle voice
Whisper peace into my bleeding heart;
It made the dreaded terror flee,
And the gloom of death depart.

We now walk hand in hand,
My precious Lord and I,
He sees me through each trial,
And guides me with his eye.

My gaze is fixed on heaven
And His majestic throne;
I see my self there with Him,
As eternity rolls on.
