God Walks The Night Hours

The clock kept on ticking, relentless and loud,

thru the long, lonely hours of the night.

He knew not the reason he lay there awake,

tensely waiting for dawn's early light.

Then his wandering mind rested high on a hill

where the Savior, he knew, died for him,

and his soul found its rest in his heavenly Guest

as God walked the night hours with him.

Her life took a turn down a long, grievous road

and she knew not the reason or rhyme.

As she struggled, she yearned to see heaven's bright light,

to find peace in this harrowing time.

Then her wondering soul rested high on a hill

where the Savior, she knew, died for her,

and she came thru the test, knowing His way was best

as God walked the night hours with her.

No slumber or sleep -- He's awake all the time,

as He faithfully cares for His own.

In the darkness you may not be able to see,

when you're feeling so lost and alone.

Let your hungering soul find its rest on that hill

where Jesus, the Savior, died for you.

He'll bring comfort and rest, for He does what is best

as God walks the night hours with you.

          "........From whence cometh my help?
My help cometh from the Lord,
          Who made heaven and earth........
He Who keepeth thee will not slumber.
          Behold, He Who keepeth Israel
          shall neither slumber nor sleep."
          (from Psalm 121)
