I’m In The Closet On My Knees

She made herself get out of bed
As she faced another day with dread
But she had things she had to do
She had Johnny to tend to

Tiredly she began her day
Already wishing it away
She had nothing more to give
She simply had no will to live

Johnny couldn’t be found anywhere
So she climbed the steps upstairs
From his closet she heard him speak
And his words made her knees go weak

I’m in the closet on my knees
Because that’s where Your Word says to be
I’m just a child that is true
But God I really need to talk to you
Satan is being a bully
And he’s picking on Mommy and me
I can’t beat him by myself
God I really need your help
He’s got to do what you say
So make him leave and stay away
God please help Mommy have faith again
In Jesus’ name I pray-Amen

His actions tugged at her heart
For Johnny was scared of the dark
He faced his fears just for her
Somewhere her emotions began to stir

She kept hearing his simple words
Over and over she his prayer she heard
I’m in the closet on my knees
Because that’s where Your Word says to be

Late that evening in the night
She turned out her bedroom light
And as she knelt down on her knees to pray
God must have smiled when He heard her say

I’m in the closet on my knees
Because that’s where Your Word says to be
I’m not a child that is true
But God I really need to talk to you
Satan is being a bully
And he’s picking on Johnny and me
I can’t beat him by myself
God I really need your help
He’s got to do what you say
So make him leave and stay away
God please help me to have faith again
In Jesus’ name I pray-Amen
