I Wonder, Jesus

I wonder, Jesus, how soon you will come back...
The world is upside down, corruption is a cruel track.

Everyone does what pleases them, with little thought for each other...
There is no natural affection, between parents, sisters, and brothers.

Who cares about the old folks, they don't count anymore...
They're just a long number, closer to death's door.

And yet, as these sad thoughts, go racing through my mind...
I think of Jesus and His arrival, And I don't want to be left behind.

I still have work to do, a kind word on a rainy day...
I can help feed the hungry, and encourage a youthful stray.

I can visit a lonely Senior, telephone a grieving friend...
I can cook something special, a relationship to mend.

I can mow a neighbor's lawn, or help clean up after a storm...
Or give an extra blanket, to help keep the homeless warm.

Jesus said when we do this, we are doing it for Him...
and we will be rewarded, Life on His side is never grim.

There's a precious saying, "Above the clouds the sun still shines,"...
That must be God's heaven, and that's the reason for this rhyme...

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry.  I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit.  Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments.  May God richly bless you.  Send emails to:   EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
