Let It Snow

I stand alone to greet your friends,
          a smile upon my face.
Through stormy weather I stand firm
          and never leave my place.
I don't go to the dentist
though my teeth are black as coal.
My clothes are kind of skimpy
and it's chilly - Bless my soul!
My pipe's gone out, but I don't mind,
          they say that smoking's dumb,
and by the way, a carrot nose
is a drier nose than some!

Sometimes it's lonely, dark and cold
and I'd love to go inside,
But things aren't always what they seem
and my wish must be denied.
The ones who made me know what's best
for a man who's made of snow.
They know I would melt quite away
if in the house I'd go.

Now listen to these words, my friends:
Your Maker knows what's best --
When your life seems cold and hard,
He'll help you pass the test.
Just stand your ground and trust in Him
and He will see you through.
The storm has come to make you strong,
He knows what's best for you!

~ Connie Faust ~

"And now, dear children, continue in Him,
so that when He appears we may be confident
and unashamed before Him at His coming."
(I John 2:28)
