Looking In The Mirror

I looked into the mirror today,
I saw an old, sad, wrinkled face,
I thought, "Lord, how can you love me,
There's nothing left, not a trace!

I used to be enthusiastic,
AndI served You for many years,
Now I am tired and worn out,
And prone to selfish tears.

Then I picked up my Bible,
And this is what you said...
Since the New Covenant gives us
such confidence we can be very bold.

We are not like Moses,
Who put a veil over his face,
so people would not see the glory
(of God) fading away.

But the people's minds were hardened,
and even to this day, when the old
covenant is read, a veil covers their
minds so they cannot understand the
Truth, and this veil can only be removed
by believing in Christ."
           2 Corinthians 3:7-13

Now, as I stare in my mirror,
I see holy things...
Not an old, wrinkled face,
But silver bells that ring.

Each bell has a message
That will make a heart smile,
A card, a hug, a phone call,
As we trudge each weary mile.

Jesus understood our suffering,
The torture life can be...
He gave His own pure Life
For the likes of you and me!

Now when you look into your mirror,
See the price our Savior paid,
To save all unbelievers
After this covenant was made.

JESUS IS EVERLASTING LIFE

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry.  I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit.  Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments.  May God richly bless you.  Send emails to:   EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
