Heavenly light shining down from the clouds on a beautiful green valley, with mountains in the background.

A Philosophy Of Purpose

          I've had some time to contemplate,
          About the reason I am here;
          Many years to think about it,
          And quite a bit of time for prayer.

          Not just about my family,
          Though, of course, I do hold them dear;
          How I live life along the way,
          There is a purpose for being here.

          Caring about my fellow man,
          Gives me a reason for being;
          Creating a plan for myself,
          Enjoying the life that I'm living.

          I was born to make a difference,
          To those I meet along the way;
          Be it just one or a thousand,
          I'm careful to choose the words I say.

          Put here just to help another,
          Get through a life that's much unknown;
          Gaining knowledge along the trails,
          Making sure in my soul I've grown.

          I've learned to trust in God above,
          Through miracles He's given me;
          That I have a purpose in life,
          It is through faith that I can be.

          I've learned through trial and error;
          Now I do whatever I can;
          For the Lord has called upon me,
          To help Him teach His sacred plan.

          One time I didn't understand,
          What life was truly all about;
          It has much to do with learning;
          Sacrifice too, there is no doubt.

          Yes, I've found a purpose in life;
          It is to be with God above;
          Living a life like Jesus did,
          Won't earn me God's eternal love.

          For it matters not how good we are,
          As we travel along our trail;
          Without complete faith in the Lord,
          On this quest we will surely fail.
