Ponderings

I've learned
that life is fragile;
that plans may go astray.
No matter our intentions,
we live from day to day.

I've learned
that life is filled with changes;
only God remains the same.
There are few second chances;
beauty fades as fast as fame.

I've learned
that no man is an island;
that there is no place flee.
We all remain connected
if we opens our hearts to see.

I've learned
raised brows and whispered comments
are rarely missed from afar;
they always seem to say
you're not as nice as you think you are.

I've learned
no matter where we travel
or how far away we roam,
one day we will all look back
and wish that we were home.

I've learned
that sometimes when we look inward,
we may not like what we see.
Any change we wish to make
begins with a person called, Me.

I've learned
each of us, at some time,
has a dream that will never come true.
It's only when we close our minds
that we miss the dreams that do.

I've learned
sometimes the world around us
is viewed through biased eyes.
Only those who seek the truth
will find that they ve grown wise.

I've learned
that even as the night fades,
the dawn of day draws near,
and if we call upon the Son,
we know that he will hear.

I've learned
that we should always seek
His blessing and his grace
and share with him the joy
and the sorrow that we face.

I've learned
that nothing in our lives
is ever hidden from His sight,
and even on the darkest night
He is our Guiding Light.
