Happy Old Lady.

Precious Gold

Whoever coined that popular phrase,
Describing the Golden Years,
Must have been really blessed,
With few worries or fears.

Yet those who suffer the most,
"Hang in there" through the years,
We tolerate the pain and distress,
And seldom submit to tears.

As we grow older we get bolder,
We don't give in to gloomy days...
We try to see the sunny side,
And for that we give God the praise.

Our days may seem sad and dreary,
But behind each dismal cloud,
The sun is shining brightly,
And old folks laugh aloud!

We've all been tried and tested,
Our faith is strong and true,
And when we try to understand it all,
God always sees us through!

The gold in those golden years,
Still shines for you and me...
For Jesus is that precious Gold,
And He is our only destiny!

He gives us strength and purpose,
His comfort's gentle and sweet...
And someday we will greet HIm,
When we walk that Golden Street!

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry.  I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit.  Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments.  May God richly bless you.  Send emails to:   EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
