Brook, Flowers, Trees

Quiet Beauty

I walked beside a little brook,
Among some lovely trees,
I heard an Oriole's sweet song,
Drifting on the summer breeze.

The sky was bright and sunny,
White clouds drifted there,
Mother Nature flaunts her colors,
Buttercups and daisys blooming everywhere.

I watched a pair of chipmonks,
Racing up and down a tree...
And wondered at God's creation,
With all it's pleasantries.

And as I walked a little farther,
I heard a rustling sound...
A mother deer and her fawn,
Were nestled on shady ground.

I stood in awesome wonder,
How could this all be?
Such love and peace in this place,
The splender of God's Artistry.

This day will live in memory,
This quiet walk of mine,
Where a little brook flowed gently
Beneath the Willows and the Pine.

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry.  I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit.  Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments.  May God richly bless you.  Send emails to:   EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
