See You Later

I will not say goodbye, my friend
because you're moving on.
This is not the end, dear one,
for I'll know where you've gone.

The Lord has promised goodness
to the faithful who believe
that where He is, so shall we be
with all our fears relieved.

And if I am so blessed,
I'll come and visit you some day
in that special, lovely place
that's just a prayer away.

And in the interim,
I'll have sweet memories of you
that I will carry with me
for they'll last my whole life through.

I will see you later.
Come and meet me at the Gate.
Sweet friends are forever.
They never mind the wait.

Sweet friends are a sign of God's love.
Like stars, they light up our lives
and chase away the darkness.

I place my trust in the Light that gives me hope.
I am grateful for lessons learned
and for the sunshine, as well as for the rain.

Even though I know that, in time, the storms will come,
I am watchful for the rainbow.
God always keeps his promises.
