Simple Reminders

The sun slowly begins to rise,
Chasing the dark of night away;
Taking with it, all of my fears,
Offering me a bright new day.

The birds outside begin to sing,
Reminding me that life's aglow;
The brook out front gurgles with glee,
Bright flowers continue to grow.

Reminders that I have been blessed,
By my loving Lord up above;
He knows just how to cheer me up,
God fills my heart with His pure love.

I know that I can count on Him,
To chase away the evil one;
Faith that the Lord has granted me,
Proves that my battles can be won.

Thank You, Lord, for Your caring way,
For always walking beside me;
Thank You for all of Your blessings,
And the gift of eternity.
