Smile

Give yourself a present
When you first arise:
Put a smile upon your face,
A glint of humor in your eyes.

Look right into the mirror
And practice several smiles,
For a good sense of humor
Will lighten all your miles.

Draw from your memory
Some tidbit of delight,
To bring the sun out brightly,
Or sprinkle stars into your night.

Share a note of laughter,
A light and cheery jest,
With someone who is troubled,
Their chin upon their chest.

Neither pill nor tonic
Can lift up a friend,
Like a heart felt laugh,
And a smile shared now and then.

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine..."   Proverbs 17:22
