The Common Thread

There is a thread
That finds its way into every human life.
Its the common thread;
Interwoven with the warp and woof of life.

There is a dread
Of the common thread of human pain and strife.
It's a common thread;
Interwoven within every human life.

No man escapes the common thread;
It comes to one and all.
It's the common thread;
The essence of the warp and woof of life.

It's the common thread, approached with dread
That causes the most pain;
But the common thread
When once embraced, will bring to us much gain.
