The Invitation

Come, you are invited, the invitation read.
No need to wrap a present, just bring yourself instead.
The honor of your presence would mean the world to me.
So please put on your finest and join my family.

Though everyone s invited, there are some who will refuse,
And of course, there will be others who'll make up a sad excuse.
My heart will be so broken to see them turn away;
Perhaps I can persuade them to come some other day.

I'm always here to listen; lay your troubles at my feet.
Come join me at my table, I offer you a seat.
I will provide a Robe for you to keep you always warm,
And when you put it on, it will protect you from all harm.

Accept my invitation, you are welcome any time.
My door is open to you, come place your hand in mine.
I'll await your decision, for your will is always free.
I have chosen you and I pray that you'll choose me.
God

Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven may be likened
to a king who gave a wedding feast for his son
Many are invited, but few are chosen.
Matthew 22:1-4

How blessed we are to receive an invitation to the feast of a lifetime
Extended by a kind and loving Father who provides not only the Bread
of Life, but the Robe we are to wear when seated at his table.
Glory to God.
