The Kind Stranger

It was a stormy day, From so deep within...
My troubles were overwhelming, my life was in a spin.

No matter what I said, or did, It never turned out right...
My heart was broken into pieces, peace for me had taken flight.

And then I met a Stranger, with such love in His eyes...
He listened to my worries, and then my life He energized.

I poured out my very soul, to this kind and gentle Man...
He wrapped His arms around me, And my new life began.

His name is Jesus! He's the Messiah! He understood just how I felt,
and He told me a gruesome story, and how painfully He had dealt.

He taught me how to smile again, He encouraged me to forgive...
And from that moment on, I knew what it was to live!

He took all my sins and afflictions, and nailed them to a cross...
And I now have this freedom, across my heart embossed.

Jesus is my Savior! He set me free from agony and grief...
He is my precious Friend, And His gracious love is my on-going relief.

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry.  I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit.  Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments.  May God richly bless you.  Send emails to:   EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
