"Virgin's Humility" - A Bed Of Thyme

There are curious details so beautifully told,
Of The Holy Family, legends of old.

Tales surrounding the birth of our King,
Glorious stories, fascinating things.

Such is the tale of the herb of thyme,
Brought from the fields during birthing time.

From Bethlehem's field Joseph did bring.
Wild thyme for Mary, a precious thing.

With this minted herb that grew in the wild,
He made her a bed when she was with child.

A bed of herbs, to deliver our King,
He carefully made, such a glorious thing.

On this antiseptic bed of the wild,
Mary brought forth her first-born child.

Wild theme, antiseptic, incense, potpourri,
 Culinary spice, "Virgin's Humility."

Symbolic of Christ's endurance and strength,
It too lined the manger, from length to length.

Curious details so beautifully told,
Of The Holy Family, legends of old.

"And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn." Luke 2:7
