What I Can't Write

          Experts say write what you know
          I can't write if that be so
          much of life I've yet to plumb
          much to taste ere I succumb...
          I can't write of giving birth
          what pulls flowers out of earth
          how it feels to ride a bull
          which is better: push or pull.

          I can't write how good it feels
          baking prize blue-ribbon meals
          how God makes a katydid
          what it's like to hug your kid...
          how it feels to be a cop
          climb Mount Everest to the top
          how the Lord puts up with me
          when you read this, what you see.

          I can't write of how God cries
          when we fail Him, still He tries
          gives us all a second chance
          starts the music, says let's dance!
          these are all things I can't write
          I'm just not that erudite
          so I hope to write with ease
          fantasies pulled from the breeze.

          --Connie

          "But God hath chosen
          the foolish things of the world
          to confound the wise;
          and God hath chosen
          the weak things of the world
          to confound the things which are mighty;
          And base things of the world,
          and things which are despised,
          hath God chosen,
          yea, and things which are not,
          to bring to nought things that are:
          That no flesh should glory
          in His presence."

          (I Corinthians 1:27-30 KJV)
