You Can Bet We Are!

September 11, 2001 (Tuesday) - For all victims of the terrorism tragedy in the United States of America.

We watch the devastation that has fallen on New York.
We watch the clean up effort as a crane digs with its fork.
Removing massive heaps of rubble with one thought in mind,
Hoping, praying with each pile, survivors they will find.

Men and women joining forces working round the clock,
While the world still watches and their minds are still in shock.
Such a show of bravery and working hand in hand,
And creating the unity again throughout our land.

Also in our capital another crushing blow,
More lives lost and damage done by this unyielding foe.
As we sit and watch the damage done to us for spite,
We cry for those who lost their lives, but now we want to fight.

The men and women working hard and all the faithful ones,
Makes us realize today a new time has begun.
Once again the call goes out for us to do what's right,
Forcing us to use our power with all of our might.

All across this nation people realize again,
We're in this together and we will be to the end.
Suddenly the petty things that once caused local spats,
Fall along the wayside as a little tit for tat.

Now we realize we're one in this great land of ours.
Once again this flame igniting patriotic fires.
We have always been known as the great United States,
But once again America's united by this fate.

It took this painful act to open up our eyes and see,
We must stand together to continue to be free.
It's painful how it happened as we unite near and far,
But now that this has happened to us you can bet we are!
