Mocking bird sitting by the window.

Mocking Bird, Mocking me?

It sat upon the windowsill looking in at me. I sat there upon my chair looking back. I wondered and so did this tiny little bird if either of us could see.

"Is it looking at its own reflection in admiration or can he really see me?" thought the bird and he thought, too.

"Oh, that's man. He cannot see anything but himself. He most likely caught a glimpse of that sad looking face in the window and will now sit there admiring God's work for hours," the bird thinks.

"Pretty little thing," said I. "I bet he is foolish enough to think that's another bird in the window vying for his attention."

Then at that very moment, another bird comes by. She sits upon the fence.

My wife walks in the room at the same time.

"I bet he scampers off in a hurry. His boss just came by! I'd show them who the boss really was!" the males chant in unison nearly beating their chests.

The bird chirps loudly mocking me and I begin to laugh at him.

"What are you laughing at?" sounds the soft feminine voices.

Heads turned quickly..."Oh, nothing. Just two guys hanging out together at the window. Poor sap has to run. The female just called for him," I said and continued laughing.

The birds flew away.

"Come on, I need to go to the store." my wife said.

"Okay," I reply.

When I walked out the door I swear I heard a bird chirp, "Poor Sap, Poor Sap!"

"Did you hear that bird?" I asked my wife.

"I didn't hear a thing," she said and started laughing. "Maybe it was a "Mocking Bird!"
"I wish you enough!"
