Picute of baby Jesus in the manger.

Christmas Blessings

Come, all ye faithful worshippers!
Heaven has sent its fairest child!
Rise up and honor Christ your King.
In awe of him, the angels smiled.
Seek Him, ye trav'lers from the East;
To find this babe, ye shepherds, run!
Mary will bid you gather near
And gaze on Him, Jehovah's Son -
Savior and Lord, the Promised One.

Before the saints in Temple room,
Laid in two ancient prophets' arms --
Esteemed Levi waited for Christ --
Spoke Anna, too, of Jesus' charms.
Sent from God to redeem mankind
In giving of the Gift decreed --
Now is the long-awaited time --
God's Son, only-begotten Seed;
Savior, you are the One we need!

"...when Mary and Joseph arrived (at the Temple) to present the baby Jesus to the Lord...Simeon was there and took the child in his arms, praising God. 'Lord...now I can die content! For I have seen Him as you promised me I would.'

She (Anna) came along just as Simeon was talking with Mary and Joseph, and she also began thanking God and telling everyone in Jerusalem who had been awaiting the coming of the Savior that the Messiah had finally arrived."
