Five soldiers in front of an American flag.

America’s Finest

He was daring and brave as he started his trek
and he gallantly faced every challenge ahead,
through reluctant farewells, ‘midst a flurry of tears,
threatened to hinder his purposeful tread.
But he picked up his pace as he firmed his resolve;
He stood straight and tall, and he tarried no more,
as America’s Finest left all he held dear --
To fight for peace and freedom, he marched off to war.

For every man and woman who willingly served,
who deliberately laid your own lives on the line,
I owe a debt of gratitude I can never repay,
For America, her flag and her freedoms are mine!
you gave up your own pursuits to heed duty’s call;
you represented each one of us who could not stand.
May God bless you, who make up our Armed Forces;
you keep liberty alive and well in this, our cherished land!
